    HubMob newbie here.

Maybe I'm a little too late for this Easter HubMob ... I just published an original craft pattern today with this HubMob in mind; took me two weeks to design, write directions, make the sample and take all the photos after noticing this HubMob topic (amid other work and projects) ... it's my first time trying to write a hub for a HubMob Topic. I had it finished and published then realized I was supposed to answer the Request first, then write it from there.

Ah, well, I'll know for next time. I did put the RSS feed for this Easter HubMob in my hub, anyway, though. Is that acceptable to do (or is there a deadline for publishing a hub that the RSS feed would be added to, for a weekly HubMob topic)?

It's a free craft project for an Easter decoration:

Next time, I'll try to remember to click the HubMob Request button first, then do my hub (and try, try, try to get the hub finished quicker for the HubMob topic) ...

While we appreciate your effort, this isn't the place to promote a non-HubMob hub... sorry to have to say it... sad

      Great hub, though! smile

Idea: You should crochet a HubPages Logo! smile

        Sorry ...

I'm still trying to figure out if it counts as a HubMob hub if it's within the topic and that week's RSS feed is on the hub page.

Or does not clicking on the Request button before making the hub disqualify it from being a HubMob hub?

Your idea for crocheting a HubPages logo ... hmmmm ... that could be fun!

You aren't the only one that has made this mistake... it happens QUITE often... or at least several variations have occurred.

To be a part of the HubMob, you must first answer the request. This is the most important part. You really wouldn't see any of the links-back-to-your-hub benefit without this step being done. (So to answer your question, I'd have to say, yes. By not doing this step, a hub wouldn't qualify as a HubMob hub.) You'd also need to write great content (which you definitely have a good handle on btw) and then simply add the RSS feed and weekly graphic. Did I answer everything? smile

smile Glad you like the crocheted logo idea --- go for it! smile

If you miss out from a hubmob topic it is still possible to rank well with the search engines smile.  I put a tremendous amount of time and effort into my arts and crafts hubs and I was not able to write about the St. Patrick's Day topic on time.  I should have answered it as part of the hubmob request, but I went ahead and did it on my own.  Even though my St. Patrick's hub was not connected to the hubmob I still got 120 views per day this week.  However, you can always answer the request after the week is over to get the hubmob traffic.

Also, this week I have noticed previous hubs I wrote about mobile phones are getting more traffic even though these are not part of the hubmob.  People come looking for hubmob topics and will glance around at other things.

Thanks for the encouraging info. Congrats on your St. Patrick's hub traffic!

It's also great to know that the request can be answered when starting a new hub, after the week is over, to have some benefit from the HubMob traffic.

I wrote about this topic in the past, but I feel I have nothing new to write about until I buy a new phone smile, which will be a couple of years away at most.

ProCW, thank you for explaining. Yes, you've answered all my questions. I understand it now.

Thanks for helping a HubMob newbie!

    Have a great day!

It's proved great for me - I've been getting 250 to 300 views a day on my two hubmob Easter hubs, and plenty of clicks and Amazon  buys too!
