Is it considered disrespectful if you are reading thru a really good hub but you notice some typos to leave a private mail pointing this out?
Like the word "thru"? (I couldn't resist)
I don't normally point out typos to someone unless I know them pretty well. I don't find it disrepectful though if it's done in a nice manner and privately as you said.
The thing you have to remember about typos is that some are intentional for rankings and some are due to differences in locations (ie, UK honour, US honor).
Yeah, I actually typed out through and then deleted it for myself. I proof read for friends and I did not know how it was seen by the community. I do not see it as discipline at all. I feel that the article was good enough for me to take the time to read it and know that I often make typos on purpose and accidental myself. I would find an honor that someone actually took the time to care enough. So I am still unsure.
Don't stress about it too much. I sometimes point out mistakes privately or overlook them. (Feel free to make fun of any of mine. )
Each hubber is different so, unfortunately, many times we don't know until it happens. Some hubbers hate being corrected while others appreciate the heads up. I think the private email was a good way to go though
Please, if anyone sees typos, bad grammar, misspelled words, or anything else, please, by all means help me. There's nothing worse than going back over a hub, seeing a blatant error and seeing that numerous people have read it, as it is. I'm not a writer, but I want to be, and with help from this wonderful community I will be one day. Thanks to you all, and again feel free to correct me, in an email of course,
Thank you all for your responses. I have had that experience fastfreta. I have written articles that I though were perfect and polished to later come back and find to my dismay that I had a few typos that I was not aware of.
When I leave a message which it has only been twice. It is because the article is so good, I feel it is worth the time and the effort to correspond with the writer to point them out to them to let them consider and determine if they are true typos.
But, I wont stick my neck out to be misunderstood for bad writing. So if anyone gets this type of message from me please know it is only a compliment.
Thank you so much for helping me with this matter. I love hubpages.

Do the same rules apply to answering comments that apply to answering/editing Q&A questions? I couldn't find anything in the Learning Center. If a comment/question on an article has grammatical errors, misspellings, and/or typos, will it be published if I answer it? We can't edit comments like...

Hi,I've never had an email from hubpages saying that a moderator suggested I proof read something, so I must be missing something here.http://hubpages.com/education/Does-Life-Have-a-MeaningI found three small typos. H instead of He. Massive instead of missive, and one other in a similar vein.What...

I see so many hubs, questions, forums, etc. with typos in them (improper punctuation, incorrect grammar, misspellings) that everyone, not just grammar Nazis, would notice. Does anyone else find this distracting when they're reading?!

Is it appropriate to point out typos in a hub in the comment section? I ask because I would want to know if anyone found typos in my stuff, but I'm not sure whether or not everyone appreciates that kind of thing, politely worded of course.

I'm just curious. I've noticed quite a few typos or misspelled words in some of the hubs I've read. Does anyone ever offer critiques or suggest editing tips?

Well that's it. No more watching Real Time reports in Universal Analytics. Now we have to use crappy GA4.
