If We the People had the power to veto any law or tax imposed by the U.S. Government. Which law or tax would you veto?
I would veto any and every law that took more than a highschool education to understand.
I would veto every Tax law that caused us to pay taxes more than once on any sum received. (retirement savings tax, gift taxes, property tax...)
I would veto "special" taxes that cause some things to be excessively taxed like the tax on smoking.
I would veto the law against drugs.
I would veto laws that give preference to one person over another based on sex. Including the divorce laws that give preference to women over men (sexism is sexism even if it is sexism against men)
I would veto the laws that give preference to one race over another and the affirmitive action laws that give preference to people because they are part of a minority. (because racism is racism even if it is racism against whites)
I would veto the laws against prostitution. What any consenting adult decides about sex is that consenting adults prerogative.
What would you veto?
Income tax first and foremost. Then excise taxes, all of them.
outlawing prostitution is irresponsible when you think of who is being exploited; usually young girls who have been lured into sex slavery and runaways..
Well, this is easy.
Repeal Income taxes. Abolish the Federal Reserve Act, get rid of all the idiotic subsidies still in place from the 1930s that supposedly "helped" us out of the Great Depression, veto the bailouts.
If it's unconstitutional (which most laws are), I'd veto it.
You that green stuff in your wallet? VETOED! it's unconstitutional.
I would veto all laws, and bills that allow and support tax loop holes for business investment offshore.
Forgive my ignorance, how is money unconstitutional?
I'll just cite Article 1 Section 10
"No State shall... make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts..."
You're not supposed to be using anything BUT silver and gold COIN as money.
Paper money is unconstitutional, unless backed by gold and silver.
Vetoing laws and/or taxes is only a stepping stone for the political process. Even a veto can be overridden.
As for taxes- my only issue is how the revenue is actually deemed appropriate, for usage.
Abolishing laws already in place is what is needed. Laws that once applied, which no longer need apply. Laws and sentences are tied to actions. Ironic, government deems what moral actions draw sentences, yet the government's own actions are immoral or of lesser morals than that of any other citizen.
To have a society with morals, those morals must be clearly spelled out for the uneducated as well as the educated. To seek a perfect society is a myth. However, government leads with is what matters- should be to protect the greater good of society and/or the human species. Notice I said "should be"- it's clearly the distinction government has yet to learn a more peaceful path. Why not? Greed, Power, Wealth and Control.
The only reason government exists is because people like to make other people's life more complicated. Some thrive on it. Why? Because, those people are selfish and fail to understand their own life. They fail to recognize their own selfishness.
Oh well. I guess I'm done.
Hmmmm....I really thought there would be more interest in this thread? Go Figure.

The bill contains 500 billion in NEW taxes. These taxes will affect everyone, not just the rich. In fact if you need a medical device, you will now have to pay a tax for it! Yes a tax on things like defibrillators, wheel chairs, fillings, and stents, so your hospital bills will now be higher! Here...

Trump said at the first debate that it is good business not to pay taxes, do you agree with him?At the same time he is talking about the Military shrinking. Maybe he doesn’t know that taxes pay for the Military. Taxes also pay our infrastructure, schools, police…etc.
