Lobbiers funded the 1st GOP presidential debate.
Do you think your views were represented?
I know mine were not. Are not. Ever.
"In the late 90s, Christian Coalition director Ralph Reed and astroturf lobbyist Tim Phillips came together to create “Century Strategies,” a lobbying firm that specializes in generating religious support or opposition to legislation on behalf of corporate interests. For example, the firm worked for Enron organizing Christian support for energy deregulation policies. Later, it was revealed that disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff worked with Century Strategies to develop evangelical support for his forced abortion sweatshop clients in the Mariana Islands. The firm faded from public scrutiny as Phillips left to become president of David Koch’s Americans for Prosperity, and Reed made an unsuccessful run at statewide office in Georgia.
However, Century Strategies is again making headlines. This time, through a Christian front group Reed created called the “Faith and Freedom Alliance.” According to tax disclosures, Faith and Freedom is chaired by Reed and hosted at his lobbying office in Georgia.
Faith and Freedom scored a coup last night when it hosted the very first GOP primary debate for candidates running for president in 2012. In the announcement for the debate, the group does not disclose that it is run by a lobbying firm."

Hmmm, so much for "transparency"....errrr, aren't they creaming Obama for that?
BTW---on Maddow's show, she said that forced abortion sweat-shop also practiced forced prostitution.
MY, what good Christian values!!!Yes, they SHOULD be taught in schools!
So the only connection between those lobby groups is Reed and all Faith and Freedom did was sponsor a republican primary debate... so what needed disclosure? And why would you expect the views of far left liberals to be represented in a republican primary debate? Once again you're trying to make something out of nothing.
Something that of course nobody could ever accuse you of, could they?
Oh, it was NOT nothing, and you DO forget!
From the same article:
"The action is set in the era just behind us, when the Bush administration and both Republican-controlled houses of Congress actually invited lobbyists to write the laws affecting the industries for which they shilled. Collusion was the name of the game, only the politicians called it being "business friendly".
Hello! it is STILL going on!
Issa wrote to businesses asking them what they want.
And Walker shills for Koch, as does Brown from Mass, it turns out.....people SAID that the Tea-Party was behind him winning, and they were right!
Everywhere there is a "new" Republican elected, they are cutting money from the poor and middle class, and re-distributing it to Corporate America....and it is BLATANT.
I read something in 2004, and it has always stuck in my mind...going to find it. It seems to explain everything.
I thought Ralph Reed was "done-for" as a result of his involvement with Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, Bob Ney and other miscreants/jailbirds. Apparently he's making a comeback.
The Jack Abramoff Indian lobbying scandal is a United States political scandal relating to the work performed by political lobbyists Jack Abramoff, Ralph E. Reed, Jr., Grover Norquist and Michael Scanlon on Indian casino gambling interests for an estimated $85 million in fees. Abramoff and Scanlon grossly overbilled their clients, secretly splitting the multimillion-dollar profits. In one case, they secretly orchestrated lobbying against their own clients in order to force them to pay for lobbying services.
In the course of the scheme, the lobbyists were accused of illegally giving gifts and making campaign donations to legislators in return for votes or support of legislation. Representative Bob Ney (R-OH) and two aides to Tom DeLay (R-TX) have been directly implicated; other politicians, mostly Republican lawmakers with connections to Indian affairs, have various ties.

Yes---some people seem to forget awful fast just how corrupt and horrible it was!!!
The Jan 2011 issue of Elle magazine has a review of the movie 'You Don't Know Jack', about Abramoff. Here's what it said:
"Greasing politicians' palms is how the game is played; screwing huge lobbying fees out of casino-rich Native American clients and simply pocketing the money isn't. Worse is what he privately calls the tribes: monkeys, morons, and troglodytes."
Do you see??? They are still at it! Calling names while robbing people blind!
Horrible people.

PLease, only answer if you have been a traditional conservative. I am a conservative Christian and my view is that the neo-conservatives stink just as bad as the liberals. I want true, American old fashined values re-represented. How about you?

If Republicans are traditionally "pro-life," why are they also traditionally "pro-death penalty?"

Why do Christians who identify as Republican think they have to agree with everything RepublicansSay? I understand many Christians vote Republican because Republicans tend to be anti-abortion, but why do they agree with what Republicans say about gun control, accepting refugees and other matters,...
