    Do you, as a Human Being, ever wonder what life would be like if you just "let go". What would life be like if you let go of fear, doubt, grudges, pain -self inflicted or inflicted by others, worry and all the things man has made to subdue the aforementioned. I don't mean some hereafter experience -I mean a real, honest-to-goodness, here-and-now experience.

    Do You Believe It Is Possible, And Why?
    Or Do You Believe It Is Impossible And Also, Why?

    James.

      I can't imagine the possibility. How do you turn your mind off?

        That is not difficult, really. The mind is a controlled substance.
        Albeit, a powerful one, but certainly not more powerful than the united human being is.

      I do believe it is possible to truly and completely let go. I prefer to do so in a more controlled manner, lol. I don't think I'm missing anything.

      I've given the 'letting go' a shot a couple of times. Some thing's are definitely harder to let go of (or get over?) but it is better than the alternative - raking it up, dwelling on it, living with it.

      Anytime something crops up that I haven't managed to fully leg go of I always remind myself that past events are only alive in our memories.

      Anyway, I'm flawed. Now and again I like a good bone to chew. Not that I'm talking about grudge bearing, as that is something I definitely don't do.

      So yes, it is possible. Providing that you can actually handle the letting go part. That's the hard bit, flying without wings.

      When you can let go, it only ever leaves a positive feeling, an improvement. When you can't you just have those days when the only thing that will do is to kick the dog *Boo ... come here girl* big_smile

      FD wink

      Being human is hard work.  And it's our humanity that makes us cling to what's familiar, for that reason alone - it's familiar.  It may be messy, chaotic, and crappy, but it's familiar, and therefore, it's comfortable.

      But I made up my mind a long time ago that I'd rather live a painful truth than a comfortable lie any day of the week.  The truth is that I cannot control other people.  I can't change or control certain circumstances.  I can only change and control myself.  Letting go doesn't mean just letting go of your own sludge.  It also means letting go of everyone else's.  Knowing that results in an amazing sense of liberation.

      I believe it is totally possible, and totally hard.  I've been able to let go of lots of pain, grudges, bitterness, disappointment, regret, shame, and fear.  But I'll tell you one thing...I never let go of anything that didn't have claw marks on it.  smile

        I have to thumbs up your answer,you put how I feel so eloquently.

        I learned to let go,awhile ago and once you believe and receive this lesson,you'll spring clean your life and let go of more old baggage that you ever knew you had.

        Especially emotions and issues,you didn't cause but were carrying.Baby girl issues,only child issues,single parent issues,not knowing your father issues,not enough love issues,abuse issues and a million others.

        We carry baggage that we didn't create but are heavy and dragging us down.You have to recognize it's not really your bag,you're just a circumstance,you're alive,you're hear,let it go.

        Once you learn to truly let go,it's truly freeing.

    Hey James,

    Letting go but not falling was something I investigated, with regards to what you are saying and I've found the freedom to be quite exciting and much more relaxing that I ever thought possible.

    To be precise, it was once I broke free from the mythical ideology that a god actually existed. A weight that had been applied to my life, which no longer is, freed my ability to control my life, see my future and guide my self.

    Very few find the release I've now enjoy. wink

    So, to answer your question- Is it possible? Yes. smile

      Hey Ray,
      You know, somehow I knew you would say it is possible.
      I agree, it is undeniably possible.

    "Do you, as a Human Being, ever wonder what life would be like if you just "let go"." Not that difficult. Personally prefer to the emotional involvement. Otherwise why am here?

    I tend to do what I can and let go of a lot and let the chips fall where they may.  I'm still standing.  I call that "let God".

      See, that is actually an interesting approach:
      To what level or degree are people willing to let go?

      ps, hi FK, long time no see.

    "That is not difficult, really." It's analysis of what you believe. If you don't believe anything then what care?

      Twenty One Daysposted 13 years agoin reply to this

      I do not see that as the issue. Belief is a lack of conviction, a loophole. And equally disbelief is not the opposite of belief or a completed belief. Disbelief is a polar belief -which is the "who cares" loophole.

      Completion does not say it doesn't matter, just the opposite, it fills the void of the matter and frees the mind from the obsession of to "do or "not to". This is one of the many reasons I would say it is "more possible" to let go than it is to "hold on" for dear life...

      James.

    "Belief is a lack of conviction".
    From the dictionary. Belief: Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something:

      Twenty One Daysposted 13 years agoin reply to this

      Exactly:

      Mental acceptance of;
      Conviction in the truth;
      Actuality (how is that possible in the mind, the most unstable, mutable thing in the human expression of creation ?);
      Validity of something (how is that possible, also, in the mental acceptance?)
      That is called delusion.

      The dictionary needs updating.........lol

      James.

    "Validity of something (how is that possible, also, in the mental acceptance?) That is called delusion." Maybe but it's what you got for the moment. You are making decisions every instant about something or other. They may be delusion but you're doing it.

    Yes I believe it to be possible and the reason is we as humans complicate are own lives. Ask yourself do you know the exact time when you fell asleep No! you only know when you laid down but the exact time no. We assume that we have control but we don't it's that ego that we feed into that we can do what ever we please and however. Your Brain is a powerful tool you just have to know how to use it by that which created it and not feed into that ego which destroys man. It is written that man would destroy himself.  Let it go and it's possible. If we had control we would know the time we would leave but we don't.
