Chili is a great staple here in the States.  What is it you like most about Chili and what is your favorite ingredient in the dish?

Eating chili is a great way to end a snowy day. I have to say kidney beans is my favorite ingrediant in chili smile

I am not a bean person, so I make my chili without beans, add a little brown sugar and the tomaotes. It is so delicious. We love it.

I just made the recipe again last night.  Chili is a great staple and a great dish for the hungry person.  Thanks for commenting.

There are two things I love about chili (aside from the fact that it tastes good, which is important!) -

    1. I can adapt it for vegetarians and non-vegetarians in the family (make one big batch, add cooked ground beef to half)

    2. Leftovers! It freezes so, so well. And that means extra meals in a beautiful no-cooking-required future smile

Wish the same applied to me lol

One of my favourite ways to start the day is with a bowl of reheated, leftover chilli con carne and a cup of freshly brewed coffee with a bit of sugar or honey.

      Breakfast of champions.

I've Always wanted to ask this Question, ever since a friend of mine, who works the X-Ray machine at LAX told me that Customs can Always Tell those travelers who are either very worried or have recently eaten a hot chili dish! :

To me there is nothing better than a pot of chili simmering on the stove, warm cornbread waiting to be eaten, and a good book to top off a winter day.
The best part of my chili would be the spices. Nothing like a little kick without the punch.
