Yesterday, I finished removing all the news and rss links from all my articles. Today is the first time since the Google shenanigan that my google hits once more overtook my hub page hits.
Could be another coincidence. Don't know.
I seem to be experiencing the same. Plus earnings are picking up very slightly.
But like you said, it could just be a coincidence.
Pure coincidence, period! I say so based on my own observation. I have rss in at least 85% of my hubs and news in maybe 10% of the hubs, if not higher, I never touched them since the change. My HP traffic fluctuates a lot day to day, and the past few days it stays at around 50 daily, has nothing to do with rss or anything else. So though hate to say this, your effort of removing them had to be a total waste of time
@snakebaby. Not really. It dilutes the quality of the ads...
But at least it has nothing to do with your HP traffic, don't you think? Thought you were doing so to have more SE traffic, that is different story. I pick rss carefully (though not perfect), so they relate to my hub; if I can't find a proper one, then I won't have rss.
You might have a point.
I left the RSS that had absolutely and utterly the identical words as my hubs. But those hubs (my short stories and my comic con hubs) didn't have any traffic anyway.
And, no, I didn't delete them because of the ads. I deleted them because HP at the HubCamp were considering removing them because they duplicated things that were already on the web. And Google wants no more duplication.
Mayhap, it was coincidence but I've watched this over a few weeks.
The first time I took off the feeds and news for specific hubs and the traffic spiked and remained at that level.
I then took off the rest and the traffic spiked once more and remained there until now.
Perhaps, it's coincidence, and perhaps not.
Remember to look at Google Analytics.
Hubpages statistic page includes your views and could give you a false sense of increase. I heard someone else mention that they have blocked their IP address via Google Analytics, so as to gain just their traffic coming and not their own views.
I thought that if I went in and changed something on my hubpages, that would could as a hp hit not as a google hit.
I was looking at my Google traffic, not my hub pages traffic. My google traffic has doubled overnight.
When you modify your hubs you get an increase of "hubpages" traffic... and Wednesdays are always high traffic days...
Doubled over night could also be a pure coincidence since traffic still fluctuates on daily basis here, many times in the past google didn't even update my modified hubs for weeks, so I suspect the increased traffic was all because of your specific change. Keep us updated, though, would like to know how things go with you the next few weeks. Cheers regardless

...And those hubs about doubled in traffic.Could be coincidence, I'm not sure. I did it on a few hubs that got 5 or less hits a day, and now they're getting 10. I changed them on Friday and watched them all weekend. One of the ones I changed that usually gets between 7 and 10 is...

I just noticed that the RSS capsule is being removed, I don't understand. I have one on about 4 of my hubs, but I don't know how I did it, and I don't understand how to remove it. And if it's removed by hubpages what effect does it have on my hubs. I read the blog, but I still...

I am wondering about a new strategy i am trying. What I am doing is putting an RSS Feed into my best performing (Viewed) hubs with my latest (not indexed by Google) yet hubs. IS this a good way to have them "crawled"? Or is it better to add links instead so each hub stands alone?

I apologise to Marisa, as I have no intention of 'stealing her thunder' for her excellent hub gathering statistics on the Plunges and Surges - http://marisawright.hubpages.com/hub/Hu … es-survey. I have looked at another aspect which was not included in the survey. I looked at about 10...

I'm trying to understand RSS feeds. I think the capsule is a reader that aggreates feeds from other websites, but I'm not sure

Hi all. Have been away for a while. Can you please update me to the effect that the niche sites have had on your hubpages if any. Look forward to chatting with you all my fellow hubbers!
