   How many people do you know make a full-time living on-line? Just wondering if it is really possible. Thanks!

      It is very much possible but you will need to do a lot of research first and if you are currently employed, I won't recommend quitting your job to try a career in internet marketing. First learn and establish yourself to a certain extent.

   Plenty, and yes it is. But it requires a full time effort.
   
   You won't make a full-time living with a part-time input.

   I became full-time self-employed online in September.
   
   But I was working 40 hours a week in an office, and then 40 hours per week online, to reach that point. And I still needed to build fast to become reasonably comfortable.

   A small percentage earn a living from it.  I'm not there and I'm not sure I ever will be, as this whole 'nexus' legislation is causing so many problems for affiliate marketers.
   
   However, I do earn a steady income well into the $100's per month.  Some months are into the $1000's, as we approach December.

   Hi Eve.  I started a website and dabbled with a few blogs over the past number of years.  Until January of this year, I didn't put any effort, much less too much thought, into monetizing the sites other than simply making sure that I had Adsense ads running.
   
   This past January (2011), I came across HubPages and jumped in.  I've written 75 Hubs and started three new free blogger blogs.  For the month of March, my Amazon / Adsense earnings are just under $150.00 through this evening.  This is double from what I earned in February and in January I earned about $3.00.
   
   Having some flexibility with my other businesses, I've put an immense amount of effort and probably 30+ hours a week (since I started in January) in an effort to see how realistic it is to earn a living off of online income.
   
   I'm a believer that it can be done, but, as Ryan noted, the effort has to be put forth not only in writing and putting sites together, but learning how to rank.  Unfortunately, I'm still working hard to figure it out.  Fortunately, I've had a few Hubs that have ranked decently and generated a fair amount of traffic after doing some keyword research.
   
   Ryan will no much better than I, but it's quite clear to me that search engine ranking has to be our key focus if we want to earn a full-time living from our online efforts.

   Yes, it is possible.  I am aware of some bloggers that blog professionally full time.  Problogger.net is one that comes to mind.

      I would append by saying.  Yes it is possible, but extremely difficult.   Just like it is possible for some people to be a superstar basketball player (but it is very difficult).

   After a year writing online, I've just quit my job to stay at home full time. However I still wouldn't earn what I'd class as a fulltime income - I'd say it's closer to what one would get working part time.
   
   The average time it takes to earn decent money online is about two years. And you have to treat it like a real job, not a hobby during those two years.
