This is where these brain washed people get such an idea. The lame stream media keep putting this evil man on the same level as a god.

If he's the best they can do, then they have one pitiful, pathetic god indeed.

And when you try to point out his flaws and his failures you are attacked! I swear democrats aren't a political party any longer they're a koolaide drinking cult, completely irrational incapable of free and independent thought. Its like they're a coven surrounding me chanting "hater.... hater.... hater" lol!

All the Christians were quite militant about that.

This is no surprise, I've found books about Obama in the religion section of some bookstores, and there is even a CD out called "A Gospel Tribute To Barack Obama", using music about God to praise the Community Organizer.

About that CD, I contacted several of the artists who had songs on it, and not only were they unaware that their song had been used, but they were also livid that they were being made to apparently endorse the man.....

You know Billy, I have seen those too. But I have seen even more religious "tributes" dedicated to "W" on the local bookstore shelves... Ronald Reagan has his share as well.

Oh and I thought he was just a demi-god.  Now the libtards have raised Obama to God.  Jim's right, they have a new religion with Obama as God. hmm

    1. DTR0005 profile image60
DTR0005posted 13 years agoin reply to this

The "libtards" as you call them spend a lot less time "praising Obama" than the Righties spend knocking him down. If you take a careful look at the political forum posts on here you will notice that liberals, in general, don't start many topics by praising Obama OR slamming the Republicans. But on the contrary, nearly EVERY conservative post has something "anti-Obama" or anti-Democrat in it.

Historically, Lady Love or AnnCee pick a sound bite or paragraph from a right-wing, online news source, and go to town. With Lady Love, the article rarely fits the argument or talking point she spins out of it. In the political forums, that's how it rolls. And historically, when challenged by fact, they back down into one sentence "talking points." And the "debate" just dies on the vine... like here lolll

Most of my friends and family are either moderal Democrats or moderate Republicans - more Republican than anything else in fact. The Tea Party crowd is a little underpresented here, but then again I do live within 50 miles of about a dozen univerisities. We sit and have civil conversations and debates on political issues. Most of the time, being moderates, we see each others' points and agree at the end of the conversation that a) Obama and Democrats are not God-hating, America-hating, freedom-hating Socialists. And b) Republicans are not ignorant, poorly-educated, bigoted bottom-feeding hypocrits who must have been abused as children. Most of the time we come to the following conclusion: neither radical liberalism or radical conservatism is the "answer" for the future of the US.

Now again, and this might take some effort, look back at political posts over the last four months or so. Tell me how many really "praise" Obama - then tell me how many start out with "America-hating," "freedom-hating," and promptly go down hill from there. Many hardcore conservatives and yes, hardcore liberals have turned the Hubpages forums into nothing but a playground where "whacky" is the color of the day....

You can't have a "real" educated debate with people who
respond to facts with "SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "you're a socialist!"

Other top poll favorites are (top ten) : Martin Luther King, Jr., Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, U.S. Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger, and Mother Teresa.

    Jesus was number two

    2600 adult participants

The survey was conducted last month

The question was "Who do you admire enough to call a hero?"

  7. habee profile image92
    habeeposted 13 years ago

From this list, I'd pick Mother Teresa as #1. MLK as #2. Lincoln as #3. McCain as #4 - not just for his war efforts, but also because of his humanitarian efforts and adopting a sick orphan. I'm not a Bush-basher, but W would be last on my list, or maybe he and Obama would tie. lol

I'm not including Jesus because I see him as much more than a "hero."

Jesus wasn't popular when he lived on earth.  He said and taught things that people didn't appreciate.

Nothing much has changed in 2,000 years.  People want to do mean and hateful things.  They want to indulge themselves in all sorts of ways.  Jesus taught against that.  Therefore, he still isn't popular.

He isn't running for a popularity contest though.  Jesus is the Son of God and will come back to rule as King one day soon.

Hey......it's not my fault.  It's just true.

I agree with part of your statement, but the rest is just conjecture.

The fact that a poll would consist Obama and Jesus, shows how uniquely planned the poll was, before it was asked to one single person.

The agenda was obvious, so as to show or give off, an inappropriate appearance.

Personally, I find it irresponsibility on who ever created the poll to begin with.

Obama is the President of the United States. Jesus was a teacher.

Obama's integrity could not stand on the same ground as Jesus.

Jesus was humankind's first truly honest person, whose teachings have been distorted in religion's philosophy.

I would find this more shocking if they asked respondents to rank a list or something. Instead they just asked people to name somebody they considered to be a hero. I could have named my dead dog and they would have had to report that 0.0004% of respondents considered "Shasta" to be their biggest hero.

Jesus is supposed to be the son of God, so I'm not really sure he'd be the first name that sprang to my mind either. If he's the son of God, of course he's going to be good. To be a hero, you have to earn it. Somebody like Martin Luther King, Jr. or Thomas Jefferson, who rose above flawed human natures to do great things, is much more my concept of a hero.

I wouldn't personally say that Obama has done enough to deserve the title of hero either, but at least he's human. ~shrugs~

President Obama, Hero,God,or Con-man from Chicago.Let's look at what we know for sure. He is no hero. We all know he is not God. That leaves Con-man from Chicago. Can I get an Amen please. Now,we can forget all the political crap from the Congress. The only question we need to settle is, are we better off now than we were before Obama? Clearly, the answer is, WE ARE IN THE TOILET and it's not getting any better. If your lost and driving around crazy, it's ok to stop and ask for directions. These Politicians in Washington, who work for us,are not doing their job. As TRUMP would say, YOUR FIRED. Obama and his hacks have been riding this HOPE and CHANGE horse to death for over two years. There is no recovery. There are no jobs. Hell, Michigan is a disaster. The new Gov. in Michigan say's  "tax the seniors". Boy that took a lot of thought. How about all these politicians being put on part time and cutting their wages till we get the bills payed. When you hear the Banshee wail brother, it's to late. See you at the track.

If you admire Trump, and I don't know - you might want to check into his finances. He defaulted on a multi-billion dollar loan to Deutche Bank claiming that the "economic collapse" was an "act of God," and as such, in the terms of his loan, he didn't have to pay back the money. That's not political spin - that is a fact.

Multiple bankruptcies, junk bond financing, scandal... Not saying he isn't your "typical big businessman," but he certainly isn't a choir boy and certainly not the kind of upstanding figure anyone would want as president.

DTR0005........... You are quite correct on Trump. I'm not a fan of Trump, although he does give them hell. There is no way he could get the nomination, so scratch him. Romney has already been chosen as the candidate, behind closed doors. He would be a great President. Hell, he even looks the part. Obama is a one term fluke. He will only be a footnote in history below Carter. It's to bad, he could have done a lot for the country but the people around him had a different agenda. When you hear the Banshee wail brother, it's way to late. See you at the Derby.

I am not a huge Obama fan, but I will make a gentlemen's bet that he will actually be listed as one fo the most influential presidents in history. And you are going to have to come up with someone stronger than Romney - I seriously believe that.

Just as you saw a revolt of the voters in the last election, you may see an opposite revolt in 2012. The Republicans were very long on promises but have been very short on results - Boehner and the House have been about everthing EXCEPT jobs - and  JOBS was their mandate. Boehner is from my state, but he has, thus far, been a piss-poor Speaker of the House and anything but a leader -again thus far. And when you sell your soul to the Tea Party, the chickens will eventually come home to roost. Swing voters, by and large, don't care for the Tea Party... and I am a swing voter. In fact, the Tea Party is a major embarassment to the Republican Party. Most of my Republican friends and family have told me, point blank, they are so incredibly turned off by the Tea Party that it will make a "difference" come 2012.

I haven't given the Republicans much time - I realize. But in reality, I have given them about as much time as they gave Obama when he entered office. It was about three months before the mud started flying. It won't be too much longer until Conservatives start to ask the House what they are really doing about jobs. And when that occurs, as fickle as the electorate is, out they will go....

Trump is too stupid to do anything but give anyone hell. Remember Rosie and he going at it in the sand box? Maturity at its best....

Watch out, King Mit may fall off his perch. Jon Huntsman Jr. is the other Mormon (recently resigned as ambassador to China) making waves to the White House and he's nobody's fool. Moderately liberal Republican. Independent thinker. Dangerous as hell, although it's not likely any Mormon will make it to the White House any time soon. Conservative and liberal America isn't ready for that. More likely Hillary would get there before them. Palin will keep her rightful place in disturbing manure piles across America.
