Someone left a couple of comments on one of my hubs, and when I clicked on their name to go to their profile, it was a link to another website where I could (NOT) leave them a comment. What should I do?
you have 2 choices--accept their comment--or delete it
I'd delete comment on your hub as spam. If they are a hubber, I'd flag the profile.
I've had that happen, but I do not mind it unless it
s some sort of adult website, or something that could get me into some sort of trouble. New comments always freshens up the page, content wise, in the eyes of search engines - I believe.
Hey ddsurf,
If a person leaves a comment on your hub that leads to another site, you could just delete the comment and/or mark it as SPAM.
I would make sure that the link is somehow relevant to my hub, because if it is not, then it could do more harm than good. If the comment isn't relevant to the topic either, then delete it.
I had someone leave a comment on one of my hubs today, and they were not a hubber, but the active link went to their website/blog. No issue with relevance, because the article and their link were.
I would delete it. He/she is just parking links wherever he/she can and yet doesn't allow incoming comments.
Delete it; I know that a lot is mentioned about commenting on Hubs but I think they forget that sometimes the comments that are left on your Hubs are uncalled for; they don't take this into account and it's my opinion that the person is either mentally off, in need of attention or just a troublemaker.
I try and stay away from people like that. It's not being antisocial it's just that they're not adding anything positive.
Anyone who doesn't have a hubpages account OR is not signed in, has the option to leave a comment using their website and any name they wish. (Sign out and have a look)
All the comments on hubs are nofollow anyway, so it's not like you're giving the commenter a free backlink.
As long as the link only appears in their username AND the comment is relevant, I see no problem with approving it.
Hello Wry:
I was going through your website and read part of the book you're working on. I didn't know it was a Hub, but I thank you for your courage and being so open with something that must've been extremely difficult. My best to you and yours.
I actually like it when someone outside of HubPages leaves comments on my hub, to me it means others outside of the HubPages community enjoys my work.

I am not looking to name names here as this happens quite a lot on Hubpages, but can someone please clarify whether or not it is against the rules for a Hubber to come to your hub, leave a comment and then include a link to one of their own hubs as a part of that comment. I know it says under each...

Just interested in how many of you just read a hub and dont leave a comment. For me if i read something I always leave a comment but by looing at my reads I can only assume loads read but dont leave a comment. What makes you leave a comment and what makes you not bother, just curious.

Do you approve comments from guest users that only leave links?A guest user commented on one of my hubs leaving a link to a book about the same subject. They don't actually say anything they just give the link to the book. Since there is no actual comment in the comment would you approve it or...

Dear HubTeam:I know there have been a few forum threads about this topic, but hear me out please. By the way, this thread refers to the rating down of hubs, not flagging. I have no problem with the flagging feature and see it as a necessary evil. Even if someone misuses it, they have to go through...

Try as I might, I can't respond to any comments in my hubs. I can add a new comment, but I can't directly reply to comments. I sign out and then sign back in, both on HP and the niche sites. How can I interact with my readers if I can't respond?

I was looking at the new layout on a hub and it made me think that the 'go to last comment' does not really show up as much as it might. I sometimes get comments from people who are not regular HubPage visitors and they might not notice this wording or know where to leave a comment, now.Would it be...
