The end of the world has arrived many, many times.

    http://www.bible.ca/pre-date-setters.htm

Thankfully, it never has, and I suspect we, humans, will have wiped outselves out long before it does.

However, the above links makes interesting reading. 220 dates for the end of the world?

So far as the Bible is concerned, the subject is beyond simple.  Seven years after the world leader, " in place of Christ" signs a seven year peace treaty between Israel and the Rest of The world, there are seven years left before the second coming of Christ, who touches down on the Mount of Olives, which is then split by an earthquake.  There IS a major fault line underneath that mountain, but of course, the Biblical prophets could not have known that.

The biblical prophets were a bunch of ignorant sexist goat herders who bolted together a bunch of bull from the hundreds of similar superstitions and stories that people had believed for thousands of years at that time of base ignorance.
It is 2011 ...... time to put religion back in the mythical box it came from.

Shouldn't simple-minded, insecure, anti-religion intolerance be over on the Religion forum where it can be ignored?

        @Wesman... ummm

Let's see. I'll bet you anything you like that in 2012 there will be clouds in the sky, that there will be a deadly evil leader somewhere, that someone will drop a bomb somewhere, that there will be at least a thousand families that starve, etc. Oh, and the Martians will land.  I could go on, but sometimes 'telling the future' is a matter of combination of common sense and far fetched idiocracy. Have you ever noticed that all the common sense things come true and all the idiocracy things don't????

We can only pray for ourselves and the world.  Natural disasters and wars have shown this to be more than likely and yet we still have to get on with our lives.

Martians probably are out there looking down at us wondering why we haven"t reached their level of intellectuality and why we keep destroying the earth when we need it for our survival.

They probably think we are as strange as when we say we think this earth will be no more.

An interesting read. Just made me realise that Noah started the human race as we now know it.

They'll keep on coming up with more dates! None of these domesday-mongers seem to be remotely embarrassed when they get it wrong, and just find a good excuse to come up with yet another date! smile

We're like fish in a blender.
The stress is greater than the sum of the dates of the end of the world.

I've seen about 6 End-of-the-World "prophets" in my day. Alot of "followers" woke up the next day and committed suicide because of the incredible shame of looking foolish. It certainly was the end of their world. I suppose in that regard, they were perfectly right.

Everyone thinks that end of the world will be with earthquakes, big fires, destruction of earth BLABLABLA...

The end of the world is happening inside every person. In the past no-one knew for gay marriages or gays in general, and now they are something normal in society.

I mean,c'mon do you still think that meteor will hit us and that we will dissaperar (sarcasm)

what has being gay to do with end times?...isn't that personal thing ?...end times would come only if meteriote hits or sun dies ...secondly end of human race != end of world...world was there even when human didnt exist and it would still be there without humans...

Please note with disappointment but no surprise - Sarah Pain, Michelle Bachman, Newt, Bohner and that whole crowd of phony losers are still with us. RATS!
