Most of us have lost considerable traffic and earnings in the last one month or so. Hubpages Alexa ranking has drooped from 176 in February to 185 at present. Many prolific hubbers have either stopped publishing, deleting hubs or just moved away from hubpages. Are these warning signs for all of us? Should we move on stay put at hubpages?

You make decision however you want.

I'm staying put. I'm branching out and working on other things to incorporate. I continue to sort out different advertising sources and I've begun writing more hubs. I have 3 in the works. wink

I'm staying put, I'm here for the long haul.  I am spending a considerable amount of time cleaning up my existing hubs and planning a bunch of new ones.  I have about 30 in the works in various stages of completion.

After reading all the doom and gloom hub threads today, because I was already in a kind of blah mood, I posted that I was banning myself from the forums. I didn't get very far let me tell you.

Hubpages is and will always be a great place to write. Yes, there are some who are seeking other avenues just as I myself am trying to do with my blog, however, I don't think this is the time to move on completely. I personally just needed a kick in the rear. Since my post I have already posted one hub and am working on a second.

Adjust to the changes that the hubteam has recommended so far and keep on trudging until they give us further recommendations. I hope for the sake of everyone here that they can just get past this and quit dwelling on it. Negativity begets negativity. So if that is true then wouldn't the opposite also be true?

I will wait it out here. I have other sites that are having various results as well, and I have not seen any good reason to move the content I have here.

It is going OK, although as you pointed out, figures are down. Despite that I have only seen a small drop in earnings, and my CTR is doing fine. I did go back and rework a few titles and keywords though. smile

I agree.  With the new HPads it is difficult to get a handle on CTR or even CPC now, but my earnings are OK overall.  Adsense is down, HPads is making up some of the difference and Amazon is doing well for me.  Outside of the Nov-Dec holiday season when Amazon blew the roof off, March was the best month I've had since starting to write last June in spite of low traffic figures.

For myself, I have decided to tough it out.  I have modified several sales type hubs and am trying to do some backlinking (new to me and I don't really know how or where yet) but am trying to work within the new google "rules".

I believe that HP will recover.  A massive effort is being made site wide to change HP into something google will love once more, made by people far more knowledgable than I about the internet.  Many hubbers are cooperating with the effort, and those that aren't are finding hubs unpublished.  All this sounds good to me.

Wherever we might go, we are likely to find that times have changed and the rules for success are now different.  At this time I have no reason to try and learn those new rules anywhere else - I can learn them here as well as anywhere, and I expect HP to do what it can (as it is) to aid that process.

Hubpages will adapt and survive - they will go where the money is.  In a changing world everything must adapt and the only real consideration is how to adapt your approach to these new circumstances and whatever changes are still to come.

One obvious thing for me is that it is unwise to have any site as the only place to put your 'stuff'; and extra ways of promotion and direction are necessary beyond just putting stuff here and waiting.

I'm going to stick it out as long as I am able to do so.  Some things could change in life that may say otherwise.

I was spending more time on HP than my websites previously. Now, I'll be spending more time working on my websites but won't won't hubbing completely.

I will wait it out, but reserve the right to grumble periodically.
