I want to see if I can't start getting any kind of "income" through my blog by putting ads in it through my google account. Is this considered "selling out"?
I don't really get much traffic to my hubs here at hubpages and so I was hoping that I might be able to consider making money off my blog (which also doesn't get much traffic, but...)
What are people's thoughts?
HI Stacebird
I think it takes alot of time and effort. I made a blog 3 years ago and only now getting trraffic from google serach. Im not making anything yet.. very little and i hope it will increase over the next years. But still I am writing, thats all I want to do.
You need to market it via social networks too. Each time you write something new. Dont write only for the sake of making money. Write for the sake of writing and helping somebody, of telling somebody about a topic. Then you are on the right way.
-> The most successful people in the world have gotten successful because they were doing what they really wanted and enjoyed doing.
You have already got a score of 89 after only 3 weeks on Hubpages. 8 hubs and 8 followers. Contratulatioins. You are doing pretty well I would say! People find your articles great, just keep going and enjoy it. It will take some time.
Good luck!
I agree with Tanja. Try it out and see what happens. Experiment.
Just place Adsense in your posts, on the upper right hand side. Continue to write posts you enjoy and that people will find useful. After you build up more relevant traffic people will click on your ads.
I use Adsense on 7 of my blogs and I don't use it on 1 blog. It can be an added income but just make sure you are careful not to use any kind of traffic exchanges for any blog with the ads. It is violation of Google's TOS. As long as you don't use any of those kinds of sites (any site that rewards people or encourages people to click on your site), you will be ok.
For me, it was a waste of time. However, your results may vary.
I do get some income from my blogs through using adsense - my blogs have been going for a while so have a reasonable amount of content and although I don't get a lot of income from them I do get consistent clicks coming through. Give it a try and keep posting regularly and you could see some results.
Project Wonderful and Performacing ads are best fit for blogs.
I use Google Adsense in a lot of different places, including my blogs, but I have to say that I get the least amount of money on Google Adsense on my blogs. I think it takes a long time to develop repeat traffic on a blog, and that is what you need to make money.
I do better with a website I have and individual articles on Triond. Hopefully I will do well also on Hubpages!
I use my Google affiliate account on my blog and select ads that really specifically apply to my content. I am still working to grow my blog and just started here at Hubpages, so nothing yet. I write my blog for clients, other writers, Internet marketers and WAHM's so I publish three times a week and have it auto promoted.

This probably is one of the worse days of my life, after so much effort I have put online, here I stand with my Adsense account disabled due to invalid click activity. I don't have any clue why this happened! I have been here at Hubpages for more than 3 years and make more than 90% of my earning...

Is google adsense only paying for clicks and not impressions? My adsense earnings have almost gone down to nothing. Has anyone else experienced this?
