Sounds like a technical problem. You may want to try with a different browser. Firefox and Google Crome work best with HubPages.

If you still cannot get it to work, try contacting HubPages, team@hubpages.com

As a sidenote, I use IE almost exclusively, and have not run into this problem anywhere.  I have both Firefox and Chrome installed, and have more problems with them on "the net" with freezing up, sometimes to the point of having to hard-crash my machine.

They both also seem to be fussier about having multiple tabs open, which is when I often run into the freezing-up issue.  With IE, I can have a dozen tabs open with no problems.

I wonder if this could possibly be a systems compatibility issue with the machine itself or the OS.???

I agree. I don't think it is possible to generalize. The OS makes a difference, and I also believe that the user's location - the network connection point - could make a difference. What plug-ins are installed, ad blockers, antivirus and other software - the combination are so many. I wouldn't recommend someone to switch away from IE, but if they report problems and are using IE, oftentimes the solution is a switch.

Log in to google adsense in new tab of your same browser and then try to connect adsense from your publisher settings page in another tab. By doing this you make it easy for adsense to connect your account otherwise you'll get emails or same page will be reloaded for you to get this permission explicitly.
