I did a little blog for my husband for his job.  It never got more than two or three views a day.  Now his traffic to his site is up 942% while my HubPages is not 24%.

Well, thanks.  This is interesting to know.

I have a blogger blog, and it's slowly been gaining traction, but I cannot figure out why certain posts get most of the hits.
The statistics section of the blog isn't very helpful either.

Although I haven't yet made money with my blogger blog, I am increasing the amount of posts per week, and will devote more attention to the way it looks.  Those cool custom banners you see on some of these blogs are very thoughtfully designed, and I think I know a graphic designer who could help me with such a project.

At least I CAN figure out where the visitors to my blog are located in the world, and I make a conscious effort to keep the international visitors in mind, as I write.  More than I would attempt on HubPages, in fact.

I’ve also got one going. So far it only has a cult following of one. Me.

I have recently become a Wordpress fiend, I prefer it to Blogspot because it has so many cool plugins, however you do have to pay for a domain name and hosting.

I am a little intimidated by WordPress.  I have heard tons of good stuff about it.

WordPress is a bit more professional and good also. I use both regularly. Google Blogger traffic is truly on the increase and juiced by Google also. I love their recent innovations and flexibilities. In fact, I got much surprised recently selling 7 items(shipped) on Amazon in one day on my blogspot. I only just dislike the high level of irrelevant and comment spam I receive frequently from marketers trying to gain cheap backlinks with spam comments, though I completely trash the spam comments. Quite interesting. Still learning more effective strategies on both of them. smile

Wow Andrew, good job on the Amazon sales.  I agree with you that WordPress looks more professional, but Google still give more juice to their own.

You should write a hub about this. Hubs that educate other hubbers about how to make more money off of their adsense account tend to get quite a lot of hits.

Google blog(Blogger) a.k.a blogspot is completely different from Google sites. Blogger has integrated on Blogspot with Google Adsense and Amazon Affiliates optional income channels. You're the one to activate or deactivate any, or decide not to blog with any of them.  smile

Okay, I figured it out and I've cleverly inserted the link into my profile page. Sweet.

Do you mean a blogspot blog?

Well, I started a blog in the spring of 2009, and I didn't write much back then. This February I started another blog, and so far my AdSense earnings are a bit over $2.50. The blog does get traffic, but no one clicks on the ads.

    Any recommendations for that?

It depends on what kinds of ads they are.

My hubs which have "Free Tarot" ads seem to get quite a few hits, for example.
