Advice for newbies

   I just received a long rude comment from a new hubber who has only been here a few hours.  I posted it as I feel it supports my case although it is clear not the objective of this person.
   
   Be aware leaving rude comments putting other hubbers work down and ranting about your authority on the topic is a win lose.
   
   The hubber you put down wins as readers feel empathy for them due to your attack. 
   
   Lose you look bad, really bad and unprofessional due to your disregard for opinions different than your own.
   
   Do think twice before you leave rude non productive negative comments on others hubs, it is not helpful to you or anyone else.

   Remember, new accounts don't necessarily mean it's a new hubber.

   It was more than likely someone who joined hubpages for the sole purpose of placing the negative comment. Unless the comment contains any useful information for your readers I would delete it.

      They have two related hubs written and posted here.  They seem to be claiming their the expert and what to strong hold a position as such.

   Hey Katie, we each have our own experiences and most of the time, people who attribute those experiences to something other than it is, cannot explain their position properly and love to insult others, because of their misunderstanding.
   
   I wouldn't worry about it.

   What energy they put out, they will get back at some stage. So if its negative, they will have that rebound on them.

   I guess it depends what the subject matter is. If hubbers are giving facts or advice without the credentials to do so, some professionals do get upset about those kind of articles. I've seen some very questionable hubs written concerning medical conditions, etc., even without sources or documentation of any kind.  It was part of the Panda slap.
   I'm not directing this to your hub, because I don't know what you wrote about. As far as the rudeness, well, rude people don't impress me, no matter how much of an authority they may be.

      This is true she was just being slanted in her favor as the material I cover is accurate as I worked in the profession being licensed and honest.  Her hubs are of poor quality and poorly spoken.  hence the attitude...

   I've gotten a few full attacks from a couple of hubbers who were followers. I did more research and found I was on solid ground, deleted the comments and kept things as they were. It's a bit disconcerting at times when this happens, but I just have to shrug it off and move on.

    It's not nice to be rude; however, isn't criticizing a form of paying attention? It shows you that your hubs are being read and interpreted (well, sometimes - misinterpreted).
    
    You shouldn't feel bad about that comment. GETTING comments is better than having your hubs ignored. I started hubbing in February, and I get traffic, but still no comments. It makes me feel that people don't feel strongly about the topics I write on, at least, not enough to say something about it. I think, I'd rather be arguing with them.
