awesomely hard ?   I'm gunna say Frankenstien and flawless just because there roles that most people forgot he did. Flawless he played a rehabing/gay bashing fire fighter rehabed by a crss dressing seymour hoffman(not a tough role for him lol) great movie

Tina I am in full agreement. He has been kinda phoning it in lately. And I guess I will be one of the few that did not think the whole " Meet The Parents " saga was very funny.

I'd have to say either Frankenstein or 1900 (Novecento) -- but that is a really tough call to make, he's done some really great roles.

I'm going to go against the grain and say that my favorite would have to be Awakenings. Because it was such a touching story and he was so very, very believable in that role it was hard not buy into it completely. And a very close second was Analyze This and Analyze That because he was hilarious!

"You don't hear the word NO very often do you?"
"Of course I do, but it's usually more like no, please, no, no."

Robert De Nero is one actor you can always bank on. Such vareity. Hard to pinpoint one. Ok here goes:

    Meet the parents

    Analyze this

(His comedies are more enjoyable, I would say)

I have to vote for Taxi Driver and Raging Bull because of the sheer intensity of the roles; but I have to admit that Cape Fear totally creeped me out so bad just thinking about it gives me the willies!

DeNiro simply owns that emotion! Nobody comes close on film! Except for maybe that guy who plays the angry militant dad in the Twisted Sister videos...that guy was scary intense..."What's this on your uniform?!? A Twisted Sister button?!?"

Love him in this film, even if Joe Pesci as the madman Tommy steals the show with his maniacal performance...

King of Comedy. He went waayyyy out of range to play that character
but my favorite De Niro vehicle to watch over and over is Ronin.

My favorite would have to be the scene in - Taxi Driver (1976) when he says "you talkin to me" classic. The whole movie was good and showed his great acting ability which we have seen throughout his film career.

That’s a toughie because De Niro has been in so many great movies, although he has been churning out a few mediocre ones in recent years.

But for me it would have to be “Once Upon a Time in America” closely followed by “Goodfellas”, “Godfather Part II” and “Taxi Driver”.
