What the heck does that mean?

    1. Make sure you are signed in on Google.

    2. Then do a Search and find your (or anyone else's) Hub
2a. If you are unable to find any Hubs, do a search with a Google Keyword Pagerank Tool, such as http://www.sitemapdoc.com/serp-rank.aspx
It will show the page & position (on the page) for the site (http://www.hubpages.com) for the keywords used.

    3. To the right of the result click on the +1, if you like it.
    More info: http://www.google.com/+1/button/

As I saw a few years ago in a Google beta that I was a part of for "user rated results", now Google is going forward with ratings for search results.

As you could imagine, this could be gamed.  Just go to fiverr.com and take note of some offerings - such as "500 +1's for $5" - or whatever.

    **Disclaimer**
HOWEVER, we can do the whitehat, honest approach and do our own searches, find good Hubs, and rate them, IF we so choose.  I am not in any way suggesting that we or anyone game the system.  But I we can be helpful toward the system and rate the better Hubs with a plus 1.

    Clear as mud?

This is really helpful. I always wondered how to find my hub's SERP rank quickly. Thanks. smile

I'm surprised that google would have that tacky sounding '+1' button to begin with. A 'like' button is good for sites like facebook, but I think it gives people with numerous google accounts too much power.

maybe google will factor in IP addresses or something to make sure that each +1 is probably valid . . . .
well I highly doubt it, too much juice would be needed.

I don't have anywhere to click +1. I'm guessing it's only in the US Google?

Try this for US Search without redirecting to Aus:

      http://www.google.com/ncr

      I didn't see anything either.

I wouldn't advise trying to manipulate Google data in any way.

And you are generating high traffic and making good money - right?

Give us some more advice Will. Shud I rite betta wurds? Will that help? Should I pray to the FSM for more traffic? Does that count as manipulation? lol

You know Mark, your interest in me is sweet but soon people will start to talk.

Actually - I have no interest in you whatsoever. I was just pointing out how valuable your "advice" is to the newbies who may be under the misapprehension that you know what you are doing.

I made the mistake of listening to people like you when I first started doing this and would hope I may help a few newer members avoid this mistake.

Supporting each other by "liking" and submitting hubs to social networking sites or clicking the +1 button on hubs we like is actually a good idea. You have no clue. Not sure why you feel qualified to give advice.

          ciao

I signed into my Google account - my name was at the top of the screen, but I don't see the +1.

I don't think this has been fully implemented yet.

I'm in the US, and I don't see it either.  (I probably wouldn't recommend any signed-in Hubbers clicking any plus-1's either. )

Hey - but on a brighter note, the Hub of mine I looked for was Number 2 down on the first page.   That was encouraging.  (That one has a particularly straight-and-to-the-point title.)

and "hey!" again...   I just found another one of mine on the first page (at the bottom, but first page anyway).  smile    Maybe there's hope yet.   smile

Correct! In case someone wants to do the +1 thing, they should be doing it like social bookmarking, where experts bookmark 20-30 other pages before bookmarking another page of the same website.

    tritrainposted 12 years ago

    Just don't over do it.

If the Hub is not good, then don't +1 it.  I would suggest the same for other services, including Digg and StumbleUpon.

I'm not suggesting exchanging clicks or anything of the sort.  If you find a good hub, then it's worth it to all of us to Digg, Google +1, and StumbleUpon it.

    Also

You should do different keyword searches for your Hub(s) and +1 each keyword-variation.

Each set of keywords used will have a separate rating.

This new +1 measure or whatever measures Google take will soon be a dead project. This is not a way to measure if a genuine user is rating a page.Still there is no alternative or any other way to avoid the process of human evaluation process.Unless Google can make an as  intuitive algorithm as human brain, there is no way to find a solution how well-written a page is.I can predict that in future people will go to some authority site to find some specific information on a particular subject. In the long run search engine will not be as a dominant force as they are now.I think as soon as all the crappy hubs are removed from hubpages, people will find more faith in hubpages as an authority site to look for information.Once that happens we do not have to depend on Google for getting traffic.

But before that we need to make sure that there is no more useless hubs in our hubpages.

HP incorporated it here along time ago, by rating the hub before commenting!

I tried it and I can see it now!
