First, can I change or modify the hub and will that make it not original?

Second, I have other hubs that should be certified original so what should I do?

I understand because I have a couple of those to. Making corrections, adding or deleting on the hub that is already certified will not affect it at all. smile

You've lost me, what do you mean be "certified original"?

You can change or modify a hub as much as you like, it won't trip the duplicate filter unless it's duplicate.

I have a hub that was permitted to be duplicated on BI before the Panda. That hub has now been certified original by Hubpages staff. I am wondering if I can make a change to the hub, the original, and if it will still be considered original. I may have to email Maddie but I wanted to let people know if they had something similar.

Interesting - I thought duplicate content wasn't allowed now, period.

The thing is, if you change it, it won't be the same as the other version any more - so it won't need to be Certified Original, will it?

        What's BI by the way?

"Certified Original" is a piece of new information.

It may not apply to many people. But it is a new thing.

Hiya bgamall, I've never of "certified original" before either, and even if it was accepted by Hubpages before, the new rules about duplicates will overrule everything else about duplication.  If your hub hasn't been found yet by HP puter or moderators, it will be flagged eventually, and if you edit it.. it might just hasten the process of getting your hub noticed by HP moderators and you will find your hub unpublished.  This is the new ruling on duplicates..

Thanks for not knowning what you are talking about Rosie. This was for hubs copied in syndication prior to panda. They are allowed to stand and when it is proven that they are the original they get a certification. Here is how it goes:

CERTIFIED ORIGINAL: This Hub has been granted an exception an is no longer consider by HubPages to be duplicated

In the years prior to Panda, we couldn't have outbound links on duplicate lenses. But if it was 'certified original' it would get a pass. I've had two such lenses, and they were certified original when they brought in the duplicate filter.

It takes awhile. But it is nice to have it showing. My question, Darkside, is, if we change the original will it still be counted as the original?

No idea if it will retain it or be refiltered.

When were you given the exemption? Recently?

OMG! Am I seeing a spelling mistake there? Just noticed after posting the screenshot. Do you have the same on your hubs bgmall?

Certified original is nothing new. It was there from 2007, as far as I know.

The "consider" immediately after needs some work as well.  Someone must have been in hurry that day! ")
