I really am interested in herb gardening. Anyone out there that does this and where would you start? I bought a kit today that I hope will flourish.

Herbs like plenty of sunlight and well drained soil.  Most are fairly hardy and some are perennial.  Parsley is a bi-annual.  Just make sure that if you are including any of the mints...you keep them in an area that will not be able to grow into other areas of your garden.  It can be very invasive!  Good luck!

Hey Peggy on the soil thing...I live in GA and well yeah that means red clay so should I start tilling a plot this year and preparing the soil?

The kit I got today and have arranged is a window box version, but I anal there is not a better way to put that and am wanting to create a garden next year in my yard. So, I'm looking for information on the best spot to put them, what will keep the wildlife out, what can't be planted next to what and on and on.

My goal is to be able to dry my own herbs for soap, bath salt, and tea making along with having fresh herbs to add to cooking.
