How many pills do you take daily or just in the mornings to start your day?  (Feel free to include any pill such as herbal supplements, vitamins or over the counter medications such as aspirin.)

I take to many too mention.  To get started in the mornings I take a total of 8 pills.

I'm happy to say, "0 daily".   smile

On a few days a week I'll take two aspirins for an injury I'm getting over.  I keep a bottle a bottle of multivitamins and take one every few days.  (I know that's know you're supposed to do things with vitamins, but it's how I choose to do things for reasons I won't go into here.)  So, for now, "knock on wood".   smile

Touchwood? Do you mean, "knock on wood"? If so, then I don't have to knock on wood. I haven't done anything in my life that would require me to need pills, nor has my body forced me into a position where I would require to take pills, to start my day. wink

I lean toward the "knock-on-wood"  kind of thinking because I know too many people who have done nothing in their lives to require them to end up needing pills of one sort or another, and who need lots of them.  hmm  It's "knock on wood" for young people - and it's "even more knock on wood" for people who have seen their 45th/50th birthday, I think.

Hey Lisa, I know plenty of people who you refer to, however, I also know that they didn't take care of themselves to their best ability. Many people eat food in high quantity which isn't good, they don't watch what they drink, they pay no attention to their surroundings and what they are breathing in. There are too many factors that people simply do not address in their life and when something goes wrong, then they trust doctors who are supposedly on their side, and end up taking bunches of pills.

My grandmother took 13 pills at different times of the day, but like 10 to start her day. She died at the age of 79. My mother is presently taking 6 pills, 2 calcium, 2 others and 2 others weekly. Not to mention, she has two different inhalers.

I get what you are saying, but "knock on wood", suggest "luck" or "chance". wink

I agree 100%. I think 80% of the pills people take are not needed at all, if they just lived a healthy life.

As for me, zero pills a day for the last 20 or so years. smile

Between me and my husband, in one day - we take a total of 36.  Two are supplements, not prescriptions.

We both have multiple, irreversible health conditions.

He also uses an Advair inhaler twice a day.

    Ugh.

Zero for me-- though an occasional aspirin when I sprain an ankle.

I take zero, a day. And I think somemay have to do with taking care of yourself, but let me just say I think its more in the Genes than anything.

Of course taking care of your body helps, may even add a few years. But I've seen people who took excellent care of their bodies and some not so much and to tell you the truth, If you don't take care of your self and it does shave off some years not to worry, it will only be last few years when quality of life has gone to pot anyway. lol

I take 8 pills, but 6 of them are the same kind. If I get the whole dose of one medicine it's $78 a month, but if I get them in a lower dosage and take more of the pills to get the same dosage, it's only $4... go figure...

I look forward to the day I have no pills to take!
