    Hey Hubbers,

I just noticed that PR has returned to the main forum thread.

Is this a return of PR to Hubpages and it's Hubs?

PR6/10 on the main forum thread page.

    YAY!

Looks like LIFE is returning to Hubpages!

Not to mention, I've seen a huge spike in traffic...I'm up 1000 views above my recent average, which is actually 400 more than before the Google Slap!

    YAY!

Unfortunately that PR indicator will make little difference to your SERPS positions. Many slapped sites have retained their PR, it is a worthless indicator these days sad

True, PR isn’t of any great value these days, but when a site loses PR site wide on over 1.5 million indexed pages it looks more like a penalty. It's great for HP that PR has returned to a couple of pages however it's the hubs themselves and the profile pages that are important to the writers here. Although PR isn’t that important it makes me wonder if authoring new stuff for a site that might be under penalty is a worthwhile use of my time. I will be a lot more content when I see PR move deeper into the site.

Google stops update PR for long time, but I believe it counts.
all you need to do is adding more backlinks and the PR will be increased.

Wow, Cags, thanks for posting this! I'd gotten so depressed these past few weeks every time I checked my stats, that I purposely didn't look much anymore. I just checked'em, though, and my traffic was the best day I've had since the smackdown! I'm just a hair short of pre-smack traffic!

I just noticed the PR6 in my toolbar. I checked my profile which was a PR4, but is still presently N/A at this time. wink

And, now it's gone again.....what's up with that?

I was just gonna say that I didn't see the reappearance of the PR. I think that's gone for a while. hmm

It's been coming and going all day. A couple of hours ago, I noticed the PR6 on the Feed page, but nowhere else. Now it's gone from there, too. My profile has been going back and forth between PR4 and N/A for almost a year now. I normally just ignore it and go about my business.

I don't really understand what are you people talking about as I have never found the PR gone. It is always showing PR 6 both when logged in and logged out. And I have seen a gentle increase in my traffic since the Google update although the amount of traffic I get is very low. View to click and click to sale rates has been poor but I didn't loose any traffic.

Cagsil, what is PR, what does it do and where exactly do I find?

    1. Cagsil profile image71
Cagsilposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Hey Rosie, as Ryan said earlier in this thread. It really doesn't seem to do anything. But, PR is PageRank. Usually, the higher number 0 to 10, the better.

There was a thread recently on PR and what happened to Hubpages. However, I'm too tired to search for the link. It was a way to gauge your hub, but seems to be irrelevant now.

If you have Google toolbar installed, it's a feature that is located under "bookmark". That same thread has a link in it, for SEO Quake program, that gives detailed information about pages. smile

EDIT:  I found this article dated March 10,2011. I don't know much about PR stuff, but it may be helpful for those who follow it.

Why care about PageRank? I am happy to post my articles on HubPages because HubPages contains quality articles, and receives high traffic, and all of which are high quality.

A high quality hub dosent link to the same website 5 times. Thanks for bringing your hubs to our attention. Obviously you have escaped the recent upsurge in hubhopping and perhaps should have thought a bit more about your first post on the forum!

It says N/A to me. And my traffic is the worst it's been since the algo change - yesterday it was down to less than 850.

My traffic continues to fall.  It's 75% below where it used to be.  No traffic.  No clicks.  No money.  Amazon sales are down 96%.  People keep saying their traffic is rising.  Mine is falling even lower, yet I'm still on page one with many of my articles.

I'm sorry.... I was genuinely being polite and I appreciate you pointing that out to me... I guess that I really need to upgrade, but I have to say that really upsets me... as I have the top score on PacMan and was learning Tetris! Oh well... good luck with your deleting then... tongue

Pagerank does correspond roughly with how high you come up in Google searches and thus traffic. So it is not the one true parameter, but still means something.

I'm seeing some blah results. Nothing too terrible (I could have dropped completely out of the SERPs) but nothing great, either. I've been at a standstill for about the past week with steady traffic. I won't be publishing anything for a while (waiting for the contest) so I will be able to more clearly see where my hubs are going traffic-wise.
