I recieved a 440v electric shock when I was an apprentice electrician. When I came round I was told that my heart was stopped for about 30 seconds

It was a cold and dreary morning. I slowly dialed up my HP account…

I fell and almost drowned in a swimming pool when I was 2.  That's why I can't swim today.    hmm

I'm afraid I'm a jay walker, and there have been many near misses.

Well, cars, buses and lorries screeching to a halt at my feet don't shock me anymore. But I'm careful at open level crossings since I appreciate that trains can't brake quite as quickly.

i think pedestrians should have the right of way always.... not enough respect for them in my ipinion.  Especially from drivers.

It's actually illegal here for a pedestrian to cross the road on a red light, so I always have to look and check for police officers before I step out. And some traffic lights here take up to five minutes to change to green for pedestrians, and then gives them about 10 seconds to get across before it turns red again. It really isn't nice for people with walking frames and such things.

I've always found it ridiculous that anyone would expect a vehicle to stop faster than a pedestrian....I just don't get it, I guess. hmm

well many many drivers think pedestrians are a lesser species..... they should not be allowed to cross the road.  I gamble with my life somethimes, and my husband is convinced i will die crossing he road.  Every time i get to the other side, i am liberated.  I have a sad life.... ha ha

huh.  wonder why so many drivers would consider themselves a lesser species - because honestly, drivers are pedistrians whenever they're walking to or from their vehicle....

My appendix burst and apparently I walked around with it for 3 days. By the time I got to the hospital I was very sick and the doctor could not understand how I was still alive!!

Damn!  yikes  You should be dead.  How did you not know your appendix burst?  From what I know it hurts like hell before it does burst.  hmm

I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to doctors and medicine. I don't like them. I was in a lot of pain but I have a pretty high tolerance. I also was taking numerous herbs and supplements. I started vomiting and, my husband says, I was very very pale. He dragged me to the hospital. I thought I was just dehydrated but my temp was 103.4 and my blood pressure was 90/60. They did a bunch of tests and then told me that my appendix had burst and it because of the amount of toxins in my body, it most likely burst a few days ago. Then the nurse simply stated, "you should be dead now".

About a week after I was born I got a horrible cold and was in the hospital for a couple weeks...obviously I lived but ever since then I've had asthma. Later, when I was still a baby, I almost choked to death on a bagel. Since I don't remember it at all, I think its actually pretty funny tongue

I had a near miss in a car wreck.  I was inches away from the person who was killed and had injuries myself; but I've never thought of it as "I shouldn't be alive."  I've always thought of it, "Well, if anyone was 'supposed to be alive', obviously, it must be me."   hmm

Life and death is such a chance. A freakish chance.
I was born dead. My mom could not give birth for 4(!!!) days naturally and they did not have a specialist to do cesarean so they waited until she started getting really sick. My twin brother was dead too . They revived me but not my brother. I hate doctors. My poor mother. She survived death of her first son, could not survive death of her second one, again freakish chance. She lost some of her mind, became a little crazy.
