one night my 9 year old was in the car with my freind and i. my freind ran into a pizza place and got two pizzas that we were gonna eat back at her place. when she back got into the car with them in hand, she said "the smell is orgasmic". my nine year old daughter then asks" whats orgasmic?" trying not to laugh i replied "it means pizza". a few minutes later i realized my mistake..not only do i now realize how bad my frreinds mouth is(part of her charm) but now im thinking that my daughter is now going to refer to pizza as orgasmic...

Lol funny story!  But I would definitely sit down and give her a different explanation.  If it had been me I would have said it's a bad word or she'll learn about it when she's old enough or something.

'Out of the mouth of babes'
I do not think it makes a whole world of difference, the English language is nortoriously difficult to pronounce and get right I remember at 12 whilst to the horror of my religious education teacher I annonuced in front of the whole class of 25 priviately educated pupils, that I thought that being a prositiute was far more flexible & less hypocritical than being a catholic!! {actually meaning protestant}.
Whilst now having been around swearing now swear as par ofcourse have found that my children use words I do not use picking them up from mates and not realising there is any thing wrong with them!!
Oh and if a helpful person makes it so obvious that the word you are using is a 'bad' word!!
Orgasmic is a lovely word to descibe pizza, and so long as great aunt Agatha is not eating pizza with you it should be fine!!! Lol

Haha that's funny. To tell you the truth, my parents never watched their language in front of me. They would be swearing in front of the new all the time when I was around, but they would say that swearing is bad afterwards. I have no idea what happened, but I didn't swear until sophomore year of high school and I didn't swear a lot until college.

...orgasmic is not a 'bad' word....you could explain it in a way that she understands that she will understand its meaning when she is older...it's difficult/hard to explain it's meaning to a child...however, I wouldn't say 'it's a bad word'...because it is not

    That is a funny dilemma.
If it happened to me I think I might explain it as a fancy word for really, really good and then come up with some other fancy dancy words for really really good (the bigger the better) to get the kid thinking of other words that mean orgasmic (but not really "orgasmic" if you get my drift).

Don't be surprised, tho, when your 9-year-old repeats the word at the most inopportune moment in front of company or (ha ha) grandparents!!! lol

Kids are scary some times. I picked my 6 year old up from school about a week ago when it was wet.

I told him to put his jacket on as it was raining.

"Raining again? F**k that!" was his reply!

I near had a kitten! We were surrounded by teachers and students in the hallway at the time. smile

That made me laugh! My Daughter is 10 and today is getting a Sex Education lesson in school, she had one on Tuesday about girls and today it’s about boys. I am preparing myself for those questions that may come, especially as I know some of the stuff she is going to be exposed to, maybe I am naive but whenever we sit down to talk about things she seems to know them already!
