It seems as though the HP ad program is only a 25% or 30% ad share. Is this true? or is it more or than this? It seems as though if I am getting 35 views to my hubs in a day, only about 5 or 8 or so of them are HP ad impressions.

I think the ad program runs on a straight 24 hour day while the stats run on a 24 hour day?

I have the same concern. I had a run of days when I was getting 40-45 views, but the HubAds reports only reported 10-15 impressions.

In addition the ecpn (?) has decreased by about 35% since April, when I was finally able to participate in the programme.

When added to the fact I am only getting 1 or 2 Google Ads clicks per month now, it really really makes me begin to wonder if there is any point at all in this exercise other than just being able to see myself "in print". All this happened just after I reached my first Google payout, which makes it worse as I had started to feel optimistic about hubbing.

Maybe your hubs are more appreciated than you realize.

In general for every 1000 Hub views, you should be seeing about 600 HPads impressions. This is outlined in our impression sharing program.

HPads reports are on absolute days, whereas Hub views are on a moving window. However if you view your report looking at a longer period like "month views," it should be fairly close.

Other things to keep in mind that could account for the ~15% discrepancy you guys are seeing:

-Some of your Hub views could be from people using ad blocking software/plugins,
-Hub views that happen in the Hopper are not considered HPads impressions since there are no ads on Hubs in the Hopper,
-Some people might click away from the page/Hub too quickly (before we are able to show any or all ads).

    Excellent explanation, Marina Lazarevic.
