I knew it would happen.  It's why I loved the news capsule.  Now, somewhow - I clicked a damned ad while trying to respond to a comment.

I'm about positive that it was the first time I ever did that.  I went to my adsense account. . . .and can't figure out any possible way to contact anyone at all in order to say, "I clicked my own ad, I know you know that.  Clearly it was an accident."

So, is any action on my part required?????  I know I should already know the answer to this, but I've never had the problem before.

Google has it's own method for detecting fraud. Accidents are known to happen and Google accounts for it. wink

I wouldn't worry about it. The cops aren't going to show up.
If you hit a second ad anytime soon, that would tell Google you are gaming the system

I agree with Cagsil and Peter Owen. In fact, the Google AdSense site clearly advises people not to report their own accidental clicks.

Really?  It seemed like whenever I joined this site and adsense I had read people saying that you should immediately contact them. . .but that could have been wrong, and things have likely changed, I suppose.

Here is the official answer and the link:

"Although publishers are not permitted to click on their own ads for any reason, we do understand that accidental clicks may occur. We therefore don't require that you contact us every time you click on your ads. Rest assured that your account is being properly credited for all clicks and impressions we consider to be valid."

If it makes you feel better, I have done it at least four times and nothing happened.
