You wouldn't know if anyone has written hubs based on your questions. I have written a hub based on question asked of me.. but I am not sure that the individual even knows that I did .. and I am sure Hubpages does not pick up such stuff and notify.
'Your questions inspired 50 hubs' or notifications like that are more on the number of question that you had posted and may not have anything to do with inspiring others
Yes, I had someone publish a Hub about a question I asked and then he mentioned my name and my question in his hub. Also, in another Hubbers comments she acknowledged that my question inspired her Hub, she answered my question and she even thanked me. At first it felt strange, but now it is fun, especially when they actually mention where their inspiration comes from.
Cool, thanks, that's what I was looking for. I had seen a question that I was thinking about writing a hub for, and I was wondering how I should notify the person who asked it, or if Hubpages does that for me. Sounds good though, I will definitely mention the question in the hub.
Thank You sofs for your response too!
I have not asked enough questions on HP for it to matter.
However, I have written several hubs to answer questions of other hubbers.
You should search to make sure someone else hasn't written a hub about the same question.
Someone wrote a question about a forum post I did. I didn't know until I saw the hub. I was not notified, nor did I expect to be notified since the hubber didn't break any rules. I was upset because I didn't think of it first.
What difference would it make if someone else has written a hub on the same question? Both would be opinion pieces and could be written from a different perspective. There is more than one way to skin a cat, as the saying goes.
I have taken topics from the forums and written hubs on them, because the post to the forum would be too long. HP frowns on extremely long posts, which could be applied to hubs. However, not many people actually pay attention to that.
I agree, use of different twist. But depending how specific the question was, both hubs could be almost duplicates. She should do the search so the hub can be written from the different angle, if there is one.
If the Hub is written from the Question page (that is, using the link/button provided there), then you should be notified, unless you unfollow the question. (See below.) Of course, if someone writes a Hub about your question, but does not use the "Write a Hub About It" button, then you probably would not know.
From FAQ: http://hubpages.com/faq/#questions
"The Answers section allows you to ask other Hubbers to answer a question for you in the form of a Hub or a short answer. You can request a specific Hubber to field your question. When a Hubber has answered your question, you will receive an email notifying you unless you Unfollow the Question."

Have you ever written a hub that was initiated by a dream you had in the night?Dreams have conveyed significant meaning to me, and sometimes the messages have been developed into articles for hubs. Do you feel your dreams can carry information for your personal development?

Well, I'm fast approaching my 1 year anniversary here, and I figured I would devote my 100th hub to a look back at my experiences at HubPages. Not to toot my own horn, but I've had about 280,000 views and have made about $700 (Adsense + Amazon) in 2010, and that seems pretty good, IMHO! I must be...
