I am... VERY close to my daughter. I mean incredibly insanely close. I am hoping that the next child is also a daughter (when we begin to try again to have another baby). I wouldn't mind having a son, but I can say that undoubtedly we are both closer to our girls than to our boys. It has nothing to do with the boys, but with us, I think.
Dinky, on the other hand, loves us equally and prefers to have us together than to have either of us separately.
I think it usually is opposite, Lgali. We've never been "normal."
I was closer to my dad, but my sisters were closer to mom. My brother was probably closer to dad, at least once he hit the teen years. Dad couldn't handle having another 'man' around.
I agree. Besides that, I don't think it's always as simple as one person being like another person. Kids can be like both parents in some ways and different in other ways. It can depend on how extreme either parent is, what a kid admires or doesn't like about either parent, etc.
i dont care ,
i have left home ,living on my own works.
becoz they both dont like me,
they always try to make me out.
I have three kids. They are all active. Sporty. None are overly fond of alcohol. All enjoyed school and did very well. I can't say much beyond that because adulthood (for them) is either still kicking in or has a little way to go before it does and people change.
I hated school. I don't conform very well. I like vodka. I prefer being horizontal to being vertical. Their dad is not dissimilar to me.
My mother is an insatibale gossip/nag. She's a bloody awful, unashamed social climber. And a nurse. My dad is active, always moving. Will eat anything, regardless of taste/smell/texture. Is a professional pessimist.
Me: I'm simply not interested if Sally's brother's third wife used to be a man and ohhhh don't get me started about Muriel and her eldest sons addiction to small furry rodents. I don't give a monkeys if you're a prince or a pauper. I hate anything remotely connected to blood/hospitals/pee. I'm selective about what goes near my mouth. I really don't care how much falvour you try and infuse into pigs blood. I'm still not eating it.
Which leads me to conclude that all my childen were switched at birth and that I really must have been adopted ...
I prefer equal treatment for my 3 sons and daughter. They squabble enough over fair treatment stilllll, lol ... but they know they are loved
Every child follows the footsteps of parents, be it father or mother. Normally mothers will be in the child's inner heart and father will be a guiding the outer world.
In Tamil, it is described as Agam (inner life) and Puram (outer life). Mother is for inner life and father will be for outer life. Consequently, the child will grow up and be like mother in the family and like father for outsiders. After they grow up, their friends will have some impact on them and the behaviour of the person will depend upon who had the larger impact on them. (Mother, father and friend).
I feel like equally close to both my parents. My bro is closer to my mom while my sis is closer to my dad. So overall it looks like it is true that daughters are closer to father and sons are closer to mother.

Whom do you love more your mother or your father?Whom do you love more your mother or your father ? Is it true that there is always one of them that we give most priority to ?

How do you help a child cope whose father has decided to not be involved anymore? What ways can you show the child that they are still very loved and appreciated and that it is the parents fault for abandoning them? It's hard because the mom doesn't want to trash the dad to the son, but at the same...

There are a lot of discussions in forums by dads desperately wanting to be "dad" to their estranged children. My take on it is different; I used to be one of those dads. The mother of my daughter and I separated a year after my daughter was born. The mother did everything she could to...

Should a father spank his teenage child for making her step-mother mad?I know a 13 year old girl who's father spanked her with a belt for making her step-mother angry, and then told her that every time that the step-mother informed him that the girl had made her mad, he was going to do...

Do you know someone that lies consistently and do you confront them or let it go?Some people lie to make themselves look better and I think some just do it out of habit. If someone lies to you on a regular basis do you confront them or are you afraid they'll get defensive and let it go?

My dad was never there. My mother is dead. My dad and I do not speak. Should I try to break the silence? He wants nothing to do with me.
