Anyone know of any legitimate on-line data entry jobs for stay-at-home people?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

That's a real tough one. I hear there are many scams out there.

This thread is scaring me just a tad, but I'll point you in the right direction: http://www.keyforcash.com/.

Good luck to you (all of you).

Thank you sir (or ma'am). Of the two people who replied, you were much more helpful! Although it sounds spamish, I will certainly look into keyforcash.

It does look that way, but I actually do some work for them once in awhile and have received three checks of over $50 from them (last one was three weeks ago).  Google them if you need some more assurance.

Will do. Thanks. And if you have any other suggestions, let me know as well. Both my wifey and I thank you.

Not for data entry work, but I know of a few sites that pay per word if you're interested in copyrighting / ghostwriting:

            www.textbroker.com
            www.thecontentauthority.com
            www.demandstudios.com
            www.ecopywriters.com
            www.brighthub.com

I've been paid by the first two, and have heard good things about the other three.

I've tried demandstudios and find their review process more than I can bear. But I'll look into your other suggestions as well. I'm more hoping for sites where I (actually my wifey) wouldn't have to do a lot of thinking.....i.e., work she/we could do while watching the kids or partially watching TV (little concentration).  Thanks.

Yeah, data entry is nice when supervising the kids.  The only other thing I can think of at the moment would be to check out the data entry jobs at Amazon Mechanical Turk or possibly the new tasks section of SwagBucks.

Did you not notice that the "person" who replied (see top 4 posts) was, um, yourself?

I thought it strange as well, but it succeeded in making me laugh.  So I guess the bait worked.

Actually, I wonder if maybe the wifey and OP were taking turns?

I just don't like being ignored. So, me, myself, and I took turns responding.  smile

LOL, you are funny, try fiverr.com. I don't know if there is data entry there, but I buy logo for my site there, people have so much to offer at that site and they sell it for 5 USD, if that is what you're looking for as well.

Take a look at contentcurrent for paid writing jobs. I've done a few bits for them and found them to be OK.

    Google homeworkers captcha jobs
    homeworkers captcha jobs

You log in, they show you captcha screens, you type what you see.  Rates can be low $0.5/1000 to start, or higher $1.2/1000 - but you do need to be good.

I'm rubbish at captcha... it usually takes me 4 attempts to log into any site that has them.

Interesting.....but all the links on the search page seem to lead to either spam or scams.

Did you check all 20,000,000 them?

I know captcha jobs are real.  I'm sure there must be one or two scams, but it seems to be a growth industry.  I haven't quite worked out what it's about yet (it's on my To Do list), but I figure they're selling the databases of captchas to either companies, or hackers.

For everything you ever wanted to know (or didn't) about Captchas and why an industry has sprung up around them, check out this video.

It is a bit long, but very intriguing.  I believe it does a great job explaining why this growing field isn't being phased out by computers, but instead will only need more human input as we proceed into the future.
