I read this in the hubpages 'help' section.
"And if you have a high status, HubPages will help drive more traffic to your site."
Does this mean that hubs from hub authors with higher scores get shown in the search results more? Or, do they show up in the related hubs sections on other hubs more often?
If not, what exactly does that statement mean?
Ok Janet, here's my maybe correct half answer
I think 'status' refers not just to 'score' I believe they mean the ranking system they use--number of hubs published/hub score in amount of time you've been here. Novice, Prodigy, Expert etc. there is a table in the help section under 'how hubscores are calculated'
Getting more traffic from hubpages, I assume, means they try to urge other hubbers toward your site by putting your name/hub topics out there--maybe in search results or in the hot hubs sect. or featured authors sect. That is my take on it.
The higher your scores, the more and better links from within HubPages your profile and hubs are going to get -- which is likely to mean more search (and other) traffic.

I was delighted to find my whole wheat sourdough biscuit recipe on the first page of a Google search today. Unfortunately, Norton gave it a gray question mark, showing it is unrated and may not be safe. See the screen shot attached. If I found that gray question mark on a search link, I would not...

Do you think the new hubpages format will help us writers here, or hurt us over time. Please explain why you think so, whatever the case may be. Heck make a powerfully expressive hub about it, if it floats your boat. (Does this spell more or less revenue for us long term, try to give it your best...

Prompted by a comment in another thread, I thought it would be useful to perhaps slightly change the way that we commonly think about changes to hub scores, hubber scores and the like. Rather than see them as a judgement on us or our quality of writing, we can use these scores and other tools to...
