if you have been following this Casey trial, you'll know that she was acquitted of murder charges and is now set to be freed next week.I've heard of book deals and possible movie deals in the works..
This makes me sick to my stomach to have some make money off of a tragedy...even is she is innocent
what does this say about our society?

Casey Anthony is just a low life woman out to make a quick buck. It sickens me as well, this was the death of a 2 year old baby girl and the world is out to glamorize it. Maybe im wrong, but my heart and mind strongly believe that she did kill her little girl..

Nice to see you seem to think "guilt before proven innocent". roll

Crime pays? It's actually a fallacy statement.

If a crime was committed, then those who did the crime cannot benefit, if found guilty.

If the person was found innocent, then apparently no crime took place.

Lying to police is only a crime, due to the fact that government needs some leverage, for other reasons. And, it doesn't fall within the guidelines set for "criminals benefiting".

    "Innocent until proven guilty"?

Acquittal does not mean not guilty. It means there was not enough evidence   to find the person guilty or there was enough money available to sway the mentality of those involved. If she is guilty two things will happen: she will have to live with the guilt for the remainder of her young life and second all of the people around her will never forgive her.

I never said it did. But it does mean that they can't be treated as guilty under the law. And so can profit from their story. Them's the breaks when you live in a country under the rule of law.

No one should ever profit from a tradegy like this. Regardless of who you are.

We currently have a murderer held up in a house in Grand Rapids, that has already killed 7 people. I fear that if he is caught, he will be paraded around the media, and turned into an instant celebrity, which will probably get him a high profile lawyer, and gold diggers trying to get his story. While they care less about the people he killed, or their families.

I wish I was a lawyer. I would go after these TV and book producers and sue their pants off on behalf of the victims. You are right, this kind of publicity for criminals needs to end. I was pissed when they came out with the whole world trade center movies, and the story of the Columbine killings. Just makes me sick, that someone has to profit from this. As, this kind of thing often leads to copycat killers, hoping to get the same publicity or end up on Cops...Another show I wish never existed.

You are hitting a fine line with what you are saying here--where do they draw the line--Like maybe we should pull the gay movie themed hub,or the monsters hub. Where do you draw the line??
That is why we have free speech in this country--my suggestion is to put out propoganda to keep people from buying these books.

There is a huge difference between gay themed movies, and a couple of nuts with a gun that decided to take out their highschool. Gay themed movies are about an entire culture of people, and it is about love and understanding. Not trying to cash in on some maniacs temporary popularity.

look at that Bitch Sarah Palin, Came out of nowhere, and suddenly everyone is talking about her, including running for president, while she quit her job as governor to take a better paying job at fox, and go on a book tour. Stuff that never would have happened if John McCain had been smart enough to pick someone else. And, everyone in the media is cashing in on her fame. PLease.

let them have their free speech, I'm just saying, if you are going to allow certain people to cash in on it, at least give the victims and their families a share of the money that is made from it. As they not only had to live this for real, now they get to see it acted out, and probably advertised every five minutes on television by people who's only care is to line their pockets with cash, and move on to the next tragedy.

There are far too many people in this country using the whole free speech balony to get rich. Like that asshole at the Westboro church cashing on on his hatred of gays and muslims. I'll bet there's some idiot waiting to cash in on his undeserved fame as well. And, I'm sure he can't wait to sign the papers to approve it.

Somehow my post got rearranged, the Sarah Palin stuff was at the end of the post. How did it end up in the middle? That's weird.

Sometimes criminals escape with their crimes because our justice system is geared towards erring on the side of the defendant.  Not that this always happens either, but I had rather have it this way than making it easier for innocent citizens to be jailed or executed.

The trial ordinary viewers watch is not the same as the jury gets to see.  I cannot imagine the jury having a motive to free this defendant if they truly thought she was guilty.  And compared to the OJ trial, this one was really lacking in forensic evidence which truly pinpointed the actual timeline of the child's death.

Not saying I think she was innocent.
