The opportunity to fix erroneous human genes through genetic engineering is growing by leaps and bounds. If someday genetic engineering becomes able to discover the genes responsible for committing crimes in humans and makes us born without that set of genes...

[1] do you think a new world without crime could emerge?

[2] if the answer to the above question is yes, how sustainable that world could be, because so far the Human Civilization did always thrive on wars?

Hi Andy. I don't believe that genes are to blame. A complicated mix of upbringing and socialisation mixed with poverty and deprivation create the conditions for crime. It's a societal problem concerning human relations and attitudes and most crime I would say is linked to the monetary system in which we live.

Hi Shinkicker, I agree mostly... but don't you think genes play a role? I think since genes are not entire responsible, gene replacement would not be effective that much. A crime free world is therefore a Utopian concept. smile

Yes, a imaginable concept only. Nothing that could be implemented, while maintaining freedom(rights and free will).

Even in a world of peace, crime would still exist. wink

If you want a crime-free world, have one person kill everyone and then commit suicide...

    ... OR repeal all laws.
