How Would You Solve the Unemployment Issue in the US?

   As the US struggles with unemployment and a lack of new job creation, what would you do to correct the problem?

      To answer your question- I would cut back on the war machine the politicians seem to love so much and provide small business with expansion funds needed, and tighten up the federal guidelines on the non-profit companies doing business within the borders of America, so they are forced to providing more than they do now.

      Well for starters, they can get a lot stricter on immigration laws, and each state can start a job search program for homeless people to take up the jobs in the usa that the illegal immigrants take.  no, im not racist, as i happen to be one quarter hispanic myself. 
      
      And even if they won't even do that, then they should at least make it a law to where illegal immigrants shouldn't have the right to vote or have the right to any kind of government help, as they're not citizens of this country. 
      
      Another thing they can do is offer more tax breaks to employers for hiring people within the United States versus hiring overseas because of the cheaper labor costs.  This way it'll give manufacturing employers some incentive to hire more American workers and create more american jobs; instead of just creating factories in other countries to save money on production.
      
      I think another thing we can do is start creating classes in high schools that teach kids about the economics of how to live on their own, about roth iras, iras, and resume building in the business world, and make it into a required course curriculum.  This way, by the time they graduate high school, they'll have a more general idea of what it takes to succeed in society. 
      
      Granted, I know some people will argue saying that's too much to demand to teach a child in high school about iras, resume building, and how to balance a check book, but they're going to have to learn sooner or later.  Besides, the way I see it..if you're old enough to learn how to drive a car, then you're old enough to learn how to balance a check book, learn what iras are, and how to type up a proper resume.  Of course, that's just me.

      Make it easier for entrepreneurs to start a business.  Regulations, licenses, and various other methods of red tape make it very difficult for eager Americans to open doors.  The American entrepreneur can change the world if given a chance.
      
      example: Cab companies, anyone with an automobile could start their own livery business.  In most places in the US the fees involved with starting the business would scare off all except the already established businesses.

      What civilized countries would you supposedly be referring to? Last time I checked, there are NO civilized countries on the planet. And, anyone claiming there is....seriously needs to have their eyes checked.
      
      
      Edit: Secondly, the first part of your statement is the gimmick government already sells the public and apparently hasn't done a damn bit of good.

   Someone sent an email out, about a year ago. It suggested that, instead of using billions of dollars to nail corporations out, they should give one  million workers over the age of 55 a million dollars each, under the condition that they immediately retire and not rejoin the workforce, thus opening up 1 million jobs.
   
   I thought it made more sense than bailing out companies that had purposely been run into the ground by greedy boards of directors and CEOs.

   Then guess one would need to define civilized. The Europeans define as socialism and quality of life; the US, won't say the people 'cause they don't have much say about anything, seem to define as how much money and power the few have.

   Create an emergency jobs reserve, the government as an employer of last resort.  I would reform the social welfare programs entirely.  Unemployment benefits and welfare programs would transform, all the previous recipients would now work in the jobs reserve.  Daycare would be provided from within the pool of these workers.  Everyone would be guaranteed a full-time low waged job, there would be no more free money handed out.  There are tons of potential jobs the government can create rebuilding communities.  Without question there is work that can be done to make our country better and there are people who want/need to work.  We just need someone to pay them and the private sector is no longer supporting our quality of life as a nation.

      Government does not create wealth, the Private Sector does with jobs and profit. Without a profit NO COMPANY CAN PUT PEOPLE BACK TO WORK  and buy new equipment ( which helps other industries).Today with some 14 million out of work, the only living wage now is a unemployment check or food stamps.
      The biggest joke of the day, Obama and company wants to raise taxes and spend and borrow more money.
      Looks like 14 million got a tax break.Obama says ‘’ I know your hurt ‘’ REALLY

   We have unfortunately been building this jobless situation for decades.  There is not a lot we can do.  Without a catalyst=====> growth fuels growth........bust fuels bust. 
   
   
   I dont want to sound negative but it will be a long time before we are able to repair what has been done.  The problem was created in the US by using inflated equity in both the real estate and equity markets to fuel growth and create jobs.  This is gone and it was a huge part of the economy.  Now public funds are drying up and retail and support industries are getting pared.  After that there is less to work with so the bust perpetuates itself.
   
   
   
   There is no money man.
   
   ............but if a person works very hard they can still succeed.  The only thing that will get us out of this mess is if alot of people decide they want to work hard enough to acheive success.  Then and only then will we get ourselves out of this mess.
   
   This administration cant do anything..The previous couldnt and the next one wont either.
   
   There is no free lunch anymore.

   How about penalizing companies that outsource work to other countries rather than creating jobs here. The only reason they outsource is because it is cheaper, so if the penalties are steep enough it would no longer be cheaper.

    The problem is that an economy must walk hand-in-hand with a population's growth or decline. This isn't happening. About one million LEGAL immigrants are allowed into this country every year. Couple that with ILLEGAL immigration (then add birth rates from both groups) and the numbers are not sustainable. Obviously it's more complicated than this, but numbers must be balanced to a given finite area or serious problems will result.

    for starters lol we have to start over with most of our government, put new jobs in place that are real or have a chance of making it, we have to have people prove they need wellfare and are not just looking for a check. We have to produce something that the rest of the world needs or convince them they need it. We need the Ellis Island system at a port in florida, a few in texas, a few in california. Thats just off the top of my head. O yeah we have to stop trying to make everyone like us and kick asss and take names like back in the day!

       I'm not sure about the Ellis Island system, but I do agree with you about everything else you said; especially in regards to the part where you said we should stop trying to make others like us. 
       
       I think this is true, as it seems like the USA takes it upon itself to be the so called police country for the world, when we shouldn't have to be. If anything, I think we should just stop caring about the concerns of other countries, and work on fixing the problems we have here first.  Plus, I think another thing that would help reduce military spending is to make it illegal for the media to ever set foot on a military base or war zone, as they tend to get in their way if anything.  anyone remember the heraldo incident?  I rest my case if you do.

    I think another system we should have in place is a 3 strikes and your out death penalty in all the states.  don't get me wrong, i'm not saying there shouldn't be a legal process, as that shouldn't change.  I'm just saying that if a person is a repeat offender, and he's tried for the 3RD TIME, then he/she should be sentenced to death if found guilty.  I know that sounds harsh, but the reality is that the more prisoners we have locked up, the more of our tax dollars goes to provide food and shelter for them in prisons.  besides, the way i see it, if you're that dumb to keep going back to jail, then you probably deserve a death penalty just for being a damn moron.
    
    Another thing I think should happen is that each prisoner we lock up should be required to take online college courses, at the governments expense.  From talking to various ex convicts that I used to work with when I was younger, many will tell you that it's damn near impossible to find a decent job because many employers are hesitant about hiring people that just got out of prison.  This is where providing and forcing prisoners to get a degree during their stay would help, as it would at least give them some form of credibility to get hired by someone; while reducing the chances of said ex con to return to crime.
    
    Plus, i think all same sex marriages should just be legalized, as we all know it's a silly law that's going to cost us more money down the road to enforce; which is silly because we all know it'll get appealed completely anyway in the future.
    
    Another thing to consider here is legalizing illegal drugs in the usa. I know that's too controversial, but hear me out. by legalizing them, you reduce organized crime quite a bit.  Not saying you'll ever get rid of it completely, but it'll at least reduce it.  Not only that, but the local governments can tax those same said drugs to make money to help regulate the economy, and possibly create more jobs out there.

    I would sack all of the government and let real people have a go at running the Country instead of the political muppets that are in every World state, then I'd burn all the of the old Government figures, recycling is not an option with these fools!!
