Unfortunately, it is overly promotional for 5 links to one domain.

It's fine; you're hub's been republished.  However, it bears noting that it's pretty obvious that site is your own, since you link to it consistently over several hubs.

If you don't mind me putting in my $.02...

I don't think that there is anything wrong with tastefully "promoting" your personal site on your profile. I don't how many people who aren't Hubpages members are going to take the time to view your profile, but members often do, because we're viewing the forums, people who comment on our hubs, etc. I don't think that this is distasteful. Maddie can, of course, correct me if we aren't supposed to do this, but I see it often.

At any rate, I do think that it is in poor taste to use your hubs to promote a personal website. I have two sites that I will probably eventually put on my profile page (I'm not sure), but you won't see them linked in a hub unless they are highly relevant. I will also never use a hub for the specific purpose of promoting my sites.

That's fairly hardline and it depends what you mean my promote - I will write a useful article and include a link to site I need a link to - is that offensive? - I think not - well no one has ever complained and I am yet to get a hub flagged!

To be honest its the quid pro quo - I provide free content to hubpages in return I get links to sites of mine.

It's perfectly acceptable to link to your own site on your profile, or on relevant hubs, as long as you follow our rules.

My statement above that the site was obviously his was in response to his "give credit where credit is due" comment.  I was simply pointing out that it is clear that the site is not simply a resource he is linking to, but a site in which he holds a vested interest.

Well your right but partially. I am involved but as an moderator there as this is an open community that offers such a chance. I'm doing it for more than a year now and got involved while looking for my pages and frankly I think I've become pretty good in those themes. That's why I’m writing about it and I do believe "give credit where credit is due" stands as I own th knowledge to that place. I guess the whole thing wouldn't stand out if I have 100 pages with different topics but I don't think I have the knowledge to cover this many topics but only few I’m good at and it wouldn be fair to waist time of otheres by writing no good no info pages.
However I do understand Your point but it makes me wonder how should we treat then those thousands of hub pages made specifically for Ad Sense, eBay etc adds!? Aren’t they in somewhat same bucket ie ‘holds a vested interest’ of the makers!?

    freak boy:

Let me clarify.  It's perfectly acceptable to promote a site in which you hold a vested interest, as long as you follow the rules to which I linked you in my first reply.
