    http://jedpavlovich.hubpages.com/hub/Ho … r-Any-Trip

I haven't done any published writing, so I'm sure the community here will have criticisms about my style and structure. And if you see something you like, I'd like to hear about that too. I'm all ears! Thanks for your help in advance.

Pretty good. IMHO, can be a little longer, and slightly better organized. Random stream-of-consciousness comments

      1) Your first section is actually WHAT to pack, not how to pack

      2) Your second section is still WHAT to pack

      3) Ditto the third section. big_smile

      4) I recommend you divide up "what to pack" based on general purpose:

What sort of casual cloths to bring
What sort of business casual cloths to bring
What sort of gadgets to bring (door alarm? special alarm clock?)
What sort of hygiene / medicine / first-aid to bring
What sort of entertainment to bring (novel? laptop? ereader? how to connect? Should you even bring any?)
What to bring and what to buy locally
      And of course, packing tips

You are absolutely right. The more I read it, the more I realize how poorly organized it is. I may have to start from scratch. However, I have also since realized how many other articles there are on the topic. Is it really worth competing with all of them? My packing ideas may be unique, but will they ever be found among the sea of packing idea articles? What do you think about just leaving it the way it is, and focusing on improving the organizational element in my next hub?

          Add your own niche...

How to pack for tropical getaway
How to pack for 3-day weekend
How to pack for almost unplanned getaway
What to pack in your "bugout kit"

The point of asking for help in the Extreme Hub Makeover forum is to get info to help you improve, and you've gotten plenty of good help. Don't give up with this Hub...just work it until it's right.

It doesn't matter that packing for a trip is a subject that's kind of saturated. Everyone's potentially got a new twist or a new tip that no one ever thought of. It's nothing like getting on the acai berry bandwagon and just putting out junk to ride the wake of a popular keyword. You've done good stuff here with this Hub...get it to where you like it.

    Welcome to Hubpages.

It's a really good first hub with some useful information and good photographs.  Well done.

I recommend breaking up your text a little more with capsules.  If you put some text first and the photograph second then you leave the top spot free for advertising.

Keep up the good work and good luck here.

I guess then it's a good idea to leave the top spot free for an ad?

That's it!  I'm not sure of the exact number of words in the first capsule but around 300.  I write a nice introduction and then press preview to guide me.

Don't forget to add your introduction to your summary box.  Click edit look to the right you'll see links like settings look for summary click that link a box opens up paste intro. in there.  This is crucial for SEO
