I have suffered with cough and headaches most of my life. I always thought it was just the way it is. I would cough until I couldn't breath. Sometimes I'd cough for twenty minutes at a time.
Then after I turned fifty, I started having many symptoms that were heart and gallbladder related. I finally had to have the gallbladder removed. I was then told that my liver was very full of fibroids. I ended up back in the hospital two weeks later with a serious heart problem. Once that was at least stableized, I was not healthy enough to go back to work.
I have been trying since January to get my life back. I found a doctor who has diagnosed me with food allergies. The diet he has put me on is whole foods. Nothing cam be processed, not even milk. I can have raw milk, not pasturized. That is not so
easy to find.
The only meats I can have are grass fed beef, free range, organic chicken, and deep sea fish. Nothing can have hormones or antibiotics during their raising. That makes them all very expensive and hard to find. Trust me when I say you can't get that at Walmart.
Life will be good again as long as I can afford this way of eating.
I watch a documentory film called the Gerson Miracle where they can cure cancer from what you eat, you should google it, very fascinating
Best to you in your journey! It makes me glad that more people, including those who work in mainstream medicine, have begun to take a more holistic approach to healing the body. We are what we eat, truly, and the crazy thing is that it's not miraculous or bizarre. It's the simplest thing possible. I feel you on how expensive the healthy foods can be. Do you have a local co-op or farmer's market? These can ease the financial burden of stocking up on fresh, organic goodies...Also, if you have the space, you might grow some of your own veggies and fruits if you are so inclined..Don't give up! I hope you'll update us on your progress. Wishing you health and longevity!!!!!
Thank you for your support. I am not in a living position that will allow for either growing my own vegs or stocking up. I ilve in a home of members of my church. I have a room in the basement and there are nine others in the home. So I have very little space. I have to buy just a few groceries at a time. I do use the farmers market and it helps.
hi friend i am happy to hear that finally u've found something that what is good for and what is not . i am a patient of chronic disease . i am also fighting with this disorder and it's really not having fun with living a chronic disease . Anyway we dont need to loss our courage . i am working too . and i just eat SCD diet ( specific carbonated diet ) .
I can understand a little of what you are going through. I don't know what your chronic disease is but I know that anything that makes us ill for a long time is not fun at all. I hope you can recover soon. Good luck to you.
I don't think people realize the huge role diet plays in health, I think people just look at weight, but it's so much more than that. I haven't done much research on food alergies, but am interested to know more about them since they're on the rise. I think food processing methods play a big part in allergic reactions.
You ars so right. I am a living example of exactly what food allergies can do to the health. I have many medical problems to over come. If I can just get my will power to go along with the program. I have a hard time staying away from the foods that I have eaten all my life. I do well for a short period then have just "one cookie" or whatever is the "junk" of the moment, and YIKES! I'm on the rollercoster again.

After the holidays I am going to go Gluten Free and Dairy Free to find out which I'm allergic to, and perhaps move on from there. I have done the Gluten free thing, which is not terribly difficult for me. I have mostly gone dairy free, but I'm not strict on it, and am rather partial to cheese,...

Is there anyway of finding out where most of your views are from?I've just had a hub jump from a handful of views a day to 200 - not much, but awesome for me! I'm just trying to work out where they're coming from (eg where link is being shared etc) to work out how to make it happen more often! I've...

I created some AdSense channels some years back and have returned to HubPages in the past week or so.How do I figure out which channels apply to what hubs or ads or blogs? I don't remember anymore off the top of my head, and there doesn't seem to be a way to trace channels back to their...

Is there a way of finding out for sure if someone was in the military if they claim they were?If someone claims they were in the Vietnam war. is there a way of checking to see if they were telling the truth or if they were ever in the military at all?
