What's Wrong With Adsense Now On Hubpages?

   This is disconcerting: I've diligently tracked all Adsense revenues from my hubs for a year averaging roughly > forty five cents a click.
   
   In the past couple of months (since the new Hubpages ads option has become available, which I personally don't use) my adsense clicks average a lousy ten cents. This has never happened before. So, I checked the ads on my hubs........hair growth on a home decorating hub???? Mucho ads for only the area I live in??? What's up with this rather dramatic and sudden shift in Adsense revenues from Hubpages? Anyone have any ideas?

      Don't know about the hairgrowth-- but if you are seeing ads for your area-- it is likely that others are seeing ads for Their area, which could be a good thing.

      Adsense has changed.  They now "personalize" the ads you see, based on your browsing history, more than on the article you're reading.
      
      So you're seeing ads Adsense thinks you'll be interested in. Other readers will see something else.

         Yes it's quite disconcerting to see ads for a hub just written appear on a new hub just written! Guess it's only me who sees them, all the same.
         
         Having said that, while everyone else may well be seeing ads based on their own personal browsing history, my ad revenue fell drastically since Panda and the new ad program which arrived for me in almost the same week.
         
         Even when I switch Hubads off, Adsense has remained very low.
         
         I thought that maybe was because the hubs I have that were doing well up until 2 days ago, have low CPCs anyway.

         This is one of the craziest concepts Google has come up with, which irritates me no end.
         
         If I've been browsing for purple widgets over the last day or so, it can safely be assumed that by now:
         * I've found out all I want to know about purple widgets
         * I have made the decision whether to buy one (or written a hub     
         about them perhaps)
         * I have bought/not bought a purple widget (or published said hub)
         * I have no further interest in purple widgets at the moment, nor in green, blue or yellow ones.
         
         However, I find myself bombarded for days on end with ads for widgets regardless of what sites I visit!

            I agree, and I wonder if it's one of the reasons why Adsense doesn't pay as well as it used to - the new system doesn't work as well as the old one.

   I've seen a decrease in the income per click ever since Panda.  It's gotten better lately, since the subdomain change, but is still quite poor most of the time.
   
   You are probably seeing ads on your hubs based on google's information about you.  That can be disabled in adsense, leaving only ads about the subject instead of a viewer finding ads targeted at his/her own history.
   
   I disabled that feature some months back, but found the ctr falling and re-enabled it.

      Thanks for validating this; yes, I do believe Panda has a part to play but it's discouraging.......I'm seeing clicks almost everyday for 1 to 6 cents!! It's been a dramatic drop in adsense revenues for any and probably all, of the issues mentioned here. I do thank you all for adding some clarity. Pity, I've spent so much time on my hubs, doesn't seem worth it anymore.

   One reason also will be location from where you traffic came.
   sometime cpc will reduced because of this.

   I think hubpages has dropped in the ranks alot in google, not sure why maybe this is due to spam.
