Well after a week I can officially declare my subpage account sandboxed.  Why I have no idea as no backlinking was going on and everything was fine till a week ago.  Got about 150 page views pre panda.  After panda got about 100 per day.  Now only get 14 which I am sure are microsoft and yahoo remnants.  I spent a lot of work to creat the hubs and though not as much time as many I am still kina poed at the whole idea of creating the subpages which seemed to be a pretty lame idea.  There used to be more blue arrows but the past week I am down to nothing so no lower to go.

Welcome to Excluded and Ignored Order of the Plungers lodge, TCH.  You are entitled to an array of suggestions, assertions, assumptions, and downright insulting-to-the-intelligence responses to our degrading plight.  Enjoy your self and feel free to look around.  That is, if you can help us find the light switch.  lol

Are we now calling them Subpages because of the sub domain switch?

      That, Richie, is very good.

I don't like this name Subpage, it implies they come with a cheese filling.

TCH, perhaps you should do some backlinking, I did this after the SubDomain switch and my hubs continued to climb back to PrePanda positions, one getting 1000 views a day.

Did you have the highest traffic ever and dropped to the lowest in a matter of hours, Ritchie?  If not, your experience isn't comparable to ours.  Or are you saying backlinks made by the writer are better than thousands made by those who favored the article?

A good backlink is a good backlink, Google Algorithm cannot distinguish who wrote it.

So, any backlink is a good backlink?  HA!  No wonder Google's search is crap!  Personally, I would prefer backlinks from real people to those made by the "hey. look at me" folks.  But hey, look at you.  :lol

So tell me, why weren't my many organic backlinks good if what you say is true?  Why were mine erased overnight?

Where did I say every backlink is a good backlink? Google encourages backlinking your work to be noticed, SEO is a independent industry.

How can your backlinks be erased?

I was only giving feedback on the actions I took and how they could be linked to how my traffic remained. If others want to use my suggestions let them, I'm not saying you have to.

I understand your point, but you didn't respond to my question regarding if you suffered the same fate some of us did.  Unless you did, your experiences cannot be compared to ours.  Once more, did your traffic disappear in a few hours from its previously highest amount?  If not, your results and how you got them, are not pertinent to our problem.

That's a very good question Randy, but short of having a hotline to a "mole" within Google, I doubt if we'll ever get the real answer.

At this point, I don't care what Google thinks, EF.  They can cram it, as far as I'm concerned.  smile

so do you get all these new hits from your own directory or others?I don't use directories much and wondered if they really help.

BTW I looked at yours and the hubpages widget is covering part of it.

No not gonna backlink.  Never did and not going to now.  As RG said this happened in an instant and only thing I am gonna do is hope someday get out of the sandbox.  Just really upsetting how people spend a lot of time and energy creating these hubs and rely somewhat on hubpage staff to do the right thing.  Obviously they didn't test or think through this subpages thing and wasted a lot of peoples time and energy.

Tile hub.  I looked at this...

    http://tilecleaninghub.hubpages.com/hub … ling-Grout

.. and to me it looked like it was very high on the repeated keyword.

This is not a criticism, it is an observation.

I was reading today that Panda / Google were trying to make their search work like a human would do. Does it read naturally and attractively being key criteria.  In effect, saying that SEO is dead, in terms of the old tricks that used to work.

Please bear in mind I can't even tell if I have been sandboxed - because my traffic has always been low - pre Panda, post Panda or subdomain.

I'm no expert - far from it.  Just over the top keyword stuffing I think is a Panda no no.  As might be borne out by the experiences of some sandboxed people.

But I don't want to start a war over it.  We take what lessons we can from people's experiences.

Keywords are still vital.  It's the same one thirty times that might do some damage.

Thus the problem, Mark.  My hubs were backlinked by human beings who liked my work, not me running around yelling "hey, look at me, hey, hey, hey...please read my stuff, it's good, hey, hey....".

And those of us suddenly punished have different types of writing and methods of arranging our articles.  It all comes down to if Google themselves actually know what's best for the world, like it or not!  smile

As it happens Randfy I think your stuff is good too for that market.  They seemed to deliver exactly what the searcher would be looking for.

It might be you need a friendly SEO Panda expert (that you can trust) to look over your domain and maybe spot something.

That's the problem, Mark.  I trust no one anymore on content sites or especially Google, who apparently penalized me for some unknown reason.  I don't want to waste any more time trying to read the minds of invisible beings.  smile

Cannot believe that this has anything to do with repetitive keywords or anything else related to writing style for that matter.  I write just how I talk and do not believe has anything to do with excessive keywords.  The fact that I got sanboxed a few weeks after the subpages thing points to only one conclusion.    Was perfectly happy with traffic even after panda.  Not now though.  Basically do not wanna touch this hubpages account as google does not like it and till they do I will just leave it alone.

We seem to suffer the same fate.  The previous Panda slaps didn't affect my hubs either.  I am now losing hundreds of dollars and no one can tell me why.  F**k us!  lol

I looked at your "easiest way to clean grout", and it looks to me that it too could be a case of keyword stuffing.

I am far, far from an expert (I barely understand the term "keyword stuffing") but Ryan Kett has recently written a hub that touches on this and other matters for those suffering since the subdomain.

    http://ryankett.hubpages.com/hub/Amazon … ng-traffic

You might want to take a look at it and see if it makes sense in your position.

Wilderness makes a good reference to Ryan Kett's recent hub, he is who I learned everything from. He optimizes his hubs and has had traffic stay increased since sub domain switch. Or you can wait for Paul's official diagnosis over a few months.

I don't need to have suffered to make a comment here.

Not saying you cannot comment here, Richie. Just pointing out your suggestions do not help those of us in this particular group.  Yes we know you are doing fine, but you are not us.  What you do, or are doing, has no bearing on our problems.  smile

You might want to bear in mind that after Subdomains, Google can now more directly target 1 set of hubs , without collateral damage.

Previously, they might have had to review each page and penalise each page or the whole domain,

Now if they review , even by robot, 2 or 3 hubs in a profile, they can apply Panda to just that profile, leaving the other authors/profiles/subdomains unaffected

That , IMHO, is why sub domains work

skearposted 12 years agoin reply to this

I agree , instead of Google judging HP as a whole they can now judge each sub domain individually.

I feel sorry for the people who have been sand boxed but I think this change was necessary in order for HP to survive.
