I do not want to complain, but I have written 3 hubs today and my hub score has gone down from 92 when I started to 91 now. Any suggestions why?

Don't worry about it.  It is very common.  smile

I think the score has to do with the overall score of all your hubs combined. As your new hubs start to gain score your score should go right back up if not even higher

I am no expert, but I have noticed the same thing. I think this might be what is happening: our new hubs have a lower individual hub score, which brings our overall hub score down, which then affects our personal hubscore. Not sure, just a thought.

My author score and hub scores fluctuate several points up/down throughout the day.  No one knows exactly how the algorithm works but it's constantly looking at many different factors.

This article gives some insight into the scores.

Charles, your Hubber score is a reflection of your average Hub score, among other things.  When you publish new Hubs they have a low score, so that brings your average down.

That's right. And it's also worth remembering that there is a random factor applied to hubber score and individual hub scores to stop the 'best hubs' and 'best hubbers' league tables from stagnating with the same people/hubs always on page one.

    Wow! Bounced to 97 now.
    Definitely stopped complaining.

When I look at the people on 100 I feel honoured to be within sight of them. I expect it gets incrementally harder as you get closer to the summit.

I found it harder to reach 95+ than staying there, it took me years. It doesn't feel incrementally harder at all, 95-100 seems a bit of a cointoss. The key seems to be a high level of sustained traffic and a measure of interaction on Hubpages itself. Congrats on breaking into the 95 range Charles!

I've only ever been a 97 once - and I've spent half a day most every day on hubpages for at least the past eight months. . . . .

Hi there Charles I have never had time to participate and be as regular on hubpages as I wanted to. But the last week I got some time in hand and decided I had to participate more and keep the tempo.

So in one day I answered more than 10 questions...I just did it to participate in the community but I saw my hub score go up from 96 to 97...then the last two days I could not answer as much as 10...Yesterday I noticed it went back to 96. So I guess the answering of questions brought some increase.

Anyway, I too am realizing the more hubs we post is not directly proportionate to the hub score. I have been quite slow at publishing my hubs one after another. I am yet to research how my score stays above 90 even after I have not published a hub for as long as almost 2 months. I would like to watch this space to see if anyone has answers to this

Who knows the workings of the hubpages algorithm. My advice is to ignore your hubscore. It has a mind of its own, and is rather irrelevant really. I think it is linked to your highest rated hub(s), average hubscore, traffic. yep, im guessing like everyone else.

Don't worry so much about your hubber score.  Just keep writing and participating in the community and it will take care of itself. One day you will log on and it will be 100!

One week ago my score went to 99. I took a picture of my computer screen and sent it to special people. I knew I might never see 99 again. I was so excited. Don't worry about hubscore, just be happy about being a writer. Mine sometimes goes down to 92 and up and down and up and down.

Hubber profile scores and Hub scores should not be a source of happiness or sorrow, they are too fickle.

As long as they are above the do follow threshold try not to care too much about them. Too often, I have seen good writers disheartened by such things.

The days when a 100 hub score got you on the front page made being in the high nineties interesting, but they went with the new front page layout.

97 is really good! I don't think I have gotten higher than 82.

Wishing you good luck with the scores smile

I have had hubs at a hundred (2) and a Hubberscore of a hundred once. Oddly I do not have a clue what I did then to achieve it smile unless it was because I was busy working on 30 hubs in 30 days at the time, maybe.
