Um... Why does it say I have ZERO followers now?

I guess I really pi**ed off a lot of people in the past five minutes or there is a glitch?  What's the dealio?

lol    My followers have all apparently been offended as well.   (Whatever it is you did, I must have done the same thing.   smile  ).    (This is, of course, fuel for the glitch theory, or at least the tweaking theory, to the "weird traffic thing" that's been going on.)

it looks like they moved teh follow button, found it as a green box with a number on it beside your avatar.  I thought mine were lost as well.  But no found it on teh left side of your avatar ( and mine as well.)

Ah.  Thanks.  I still haven't found mine, but I'll look sometime later (when I'm not preoccupied with this weird traffic thing.  lol  )

Hmmm...  I just went into Internet Explorer and VOILA I am loved again.  I was in Firefox before.

I wonder what happens if we log out.

It seems fine now in both browsers.  That was weird and thankfully very temporary.

Followers are no longer showing on our hubs.

I wonder if it is that way for outside visitors.

I see the green followers (number) button has moved over but where did the

      "Follow this Hubber"

button go? I noticed earlier in the day it was missing when I wanted to follow someone. Maybe they're working on it.

Thanks for explaining it to me. Toggle it on or off.

I liked it the old way better.

I would think we'll get a formal statement on this soon

Maybe it's because an outside viewer from google etc doesn't necessarily need to know how many followers and author has. Or so people don't simple add and try to copy the more successful authors within the site?

And for those who have not already done so, go click it to follow yourself.

Then go hide under your bed. smile

Hello, All!  Here's the news:  The follow button in your profile box on your Hubs was mistakenly taken down with the last build and will be restored in the next few days.  The follow button on your profile page will continue to be in the green follow button; that should be an accurate account of your followers, mine is.  The great news is that we will be launching a new profile page in the future, here's the blog post (http://blog.hubpages.com/2011/08/site-design-feedback/), so it will look a lot more organic on your profile page in the future.

Awesome! We are really going to have to put in some thought as to what to use for that big picture format.

I personally don't like the new location of the follow button. sad

For one thing, it's too close to the "flag this profile" button and someone might miss. yikes

In addition, it was useful having the number of followers clearly displayed along with the number of hubs. That was a logical position. Now it's not. I hope the new profile page Robin mentioned will have a logical display of followers again.

Glen I am with you on this!  Put a good button next to one that can cause trouble is really pretty stupid.

I've already just now executed one hub in preparation for the new profile format. In this case it was probably for the best anyway. The Commode Ode is gone. big_smile

Edit: That one is more worthy of google Knol anyway. lol

lost all of my followers too! But doing so seemed to have pushed up my Hubauthor score a few notches from what it was y'day! Who knows....other people are getting big jumps in views and double red triangles - mine have't moved in two days.

Is there a full moon or something? roll
