Eat foods you enjoy - they don't have to be typical breakfast foods - something you enjoy and makes you feel good is ideal.

For me nothing beats a cooked breakfast - today I had grilled kangaroo sausages, grilled tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms, baked beans and a scrambled egg with spinach.

My ideal breakfast is cereals with real fruits like strawberries and/or bananas followed by a fruit juice drink.  However, I never get a chance to have such a breakfast and instead have whatever is at hand!

The breakfast I have still makes my day go well though, too!

Whole eggs (4 raw), whole apple, whole banana, oatmeal raw (old fashioned whole grain), honey, yogurt (flavor? your choice) no-fat milk powder and no-fat milk (liquid)...throw in blender and turn it into a milkshake.
Quick, tasty, nutritious and loaded with energy.
Include a hi powered vitamin/min supplement with a minimum of 75 mgs of B complex.
Then get yer day goin'!  smile:

I don't normally eat much fruit with my breakfast. If I have the option to eat some fruit or any nutritious food, this is what I would eat. I would use some whole grain toast and coat it with some homemade apple jelly. I would eat a banana and maybe a bowl of Wheaties and Berries. Washing it down with some freshly squeezed grapefruit juice would be tasty.

I generally eat sliced bananas in my cereal for breakfast with a glass of orange juice or cranberry juice. Occasionally I will add sliced peaches to my cereal.

My typical breakfast consists of a three-egg cheese and mushroom omelette, ham or bacon, fried potatoes, toast with strawberry jam, an oatmeal cookie, a handful of mixed nuts, a glass of grapefruit or tomato juice, finishing with a cup or two of fragrant black coffee...

I love papaya for breakfast with some natural yogurt and a dash of honey. Not only is it delicious, it feels so fulfilling after having it.
I also like a toast of gourmet multi grain fruit bread with a homemade protein shake.

But I do sometimes take a vitamin pill.

I have what I call my 'power' breakfast.  3 or 4 jumbo egg whites and one whole egg cooked in just enough butter and then put on a slice of whole wheat bread.

One the day(s) that I don't eat eggs, it's whole wheat pancakes with either blueberries and/or blueberries mixed in and a banana butter spread on top.

Once in a great while it's raisin bran cerel mixed with blueberries.

Some of these healthy breakfasts sound delicious, but I just can't face food until about three hours after I've woken up.
In college this year, we had to eat breakfast at 6:30 in the morning. I just about managed to stuff a bread roll with jam in. It was torture.

Did anyone hear at least remotely about NOT eating fruit with your food, breakfast or not? Only between meals, like a snack, otherwise it will stalls your digestion, can cause even pain in your stomach or diarrhea. I am speechless...

Ah - so I'm doing at least something right.
Actually, I hardly ever eat fruit, although I did eat an apple yesterday.

No! I haven't heard that! That doesn't sound right to me -- but I'm no nutritional expert:-).

If I'm having cereal (bran flakes or Kashi "Go Lean") I like fresh blueberries.
If I'm having oatmeal, I sometimes put some dried cranberries and almonds on it.
I'm not a big breakfast preparer usually. As much as I love strawberries, I am too lazy in the am to slice them!

If I'm having eggs (with a slice of whole grain toast) I might put some orange sections on the side. Or might now...

My one breakfast mainstay is coffee! Black. Strong. Lots.

"Fruit digestion results in the release of an alkaline secretion, which neutralizes the acid secretions, needed for protein digestion. Because of this, it is not a good idea to eat fruits and proteins at the same meals. Some foods are digested faster than others. If fast-digesting foods like fruits are held up in the digestive system for a longer time than necessary through being combined with foods that digest more slowly, fermentation takes place. For this reason, it is good for digestion to eat fruit and starches, which are digested slowly at different meals. Fruits and vegetables require different digestive enzymes, which tend to neutralize each other, so these too are best taken at separate meals. " - That's what nutrition experts say.

Wow. I'm shocked that hasn't been more promotion of this. Then again, it goes completely counter the campaigns to get us to eat MORE fruits and veggies.
This makes it way more difficult to do that.
Unless you also buy into the idea of 5-6 small meals/snacks per day instead of 3 squares!

I think I will continue to eat my blueberries WITH my starch+fiber cereal, tho.

Just eat sweet fruits between meals that's it. Plain and simple. 3 regular meals and snacks(fruits) in between. Lots of stomach complains will be gone forever. smile

          No - don't do it.

I hardly ever eat fruit at all, and I'm the healthiest person I know (they all eat fruit, tons of it).

You can eat anything ya want at anytime...
    You are an "omnivore."
Millions of yrs of evolution have supplied ya with all the enzymes needed to digest anything edible at anytime and combined.
There are no "bad foods," only bad habits.

I sometimes blueberries, they are good for brain health.  But I don't put them in milk because the protein in the milk makes the blueberry's anti-oxidants less effective: <link snipped>
You can put them in oatmeal or eat them plain.

I usually have my frosted flakes, then some raspberry or strawberry yogurt with some almond pieces or other nuts.

Many days it's also cereal and half a grapfruit and toast with peanut butter

I like cereal such as Muesli with fresh banana, a slice of wholemeal toast then a piece of fruit like an orange. With a cup of coffee, one sugar and skimmed milk to wake me up!
