Can I link back to my website if its on the topic of flat belly

   I have a hubpage and Im wondering if I can link back to my website?  I know some topics are banned on hubpages.  my website is flatbellyhealth - so its not just on losing belly fat, it has many other articles as well.  But Im not sure if this is allowed, can someone please advice me so I can do the right thing.

      I read the Hub page rules and I believe that you can not promote other websites with back links, even if it relates to your hub topic.

         You can promote any website, which isn't prohibited. You can assign up to two links per domain.

      You can link TWICE to a single domain, as Cagsil said. And RSS counts as one link.

   I guess that depends on what your goal is?
   
   Are you trying to promote your website?
   
   or Do you want traffic to your hubs?
   
   If you are doing the former, then yes you can link to your website, as far as I know.
   
   If you are trying to bring traffic to your hubs, so you can earn from them, then no. Create a one-way link from your website to your hub. Do not create two-way links because they are valued less.
   
   Create a post on your website and link back to your hub. If you want to bring traffic to your hubs. Promote your website and hubs, this way you have more chances of people coming to your hubs, either directly from promote or your website.
   
   If your website is more important than link to it from a hub. And, still promote both.

         Are we aware of anything these days? They do not state what are permitted topics and what aren't.
         
         I have a feeling (but no hubs to verify) that flat belly or lose belly fat may be prohibited for being an overly promoted and saturated web topic.
         
         Like acai berry, credit card debt, hoodia gordonii, smoking (even when trying to stop) and a million other un-named until you write about them topics.
         
         Trouble is, as none of my hubs on these topics have links, I cant say if they are allowed or not.
         
         But I have a feeling they aren't.

   I do n't think it can be a prohibited topic as Maddie (of HubPages staff) has a hub about it -

      Credit card debt was a required topic in a recent contest, but they changed the rules since then.
      
      They say if a hub is of a good standard it remains published but any changes will result in an automatic unpublication until staff review.
      
      If belly fat is restricted, those with hubs will see warnings on their own accounts, but no-one else can see them.
      
      I'm pretty sure Maddie also has hubs on acai berry or Hoodia, but I could be wrong.

   I find that amazing, if we cannot go by what the staff have published then it is even more confusing than I thought. Thanks for pointing this out as I was misled by the idea that if the staff had a hub on it then the topic must be OK.
   
   I have always wondered if the contests held in the past, which may have led to a 'deluge of hubs' on similar subjects being released at once, might have been OK at the time but had a detrimental effect at a later date. Not sure about how that would work though.
   
   My lack of real knowledge on how search engines work out who or what ranks where is not exactly helpful in the current climate. I am just writing about the subjects I want to, as I do not have a clue how to do half of the things I read about when it comes to SEO etc.
