That is, what do we consider a real personality? How often, peopl may think completely differently from how they act, and we would not even know it. A person who does good but secretly despises everyone and everything. A person who does bad but is perplexed in himself/herself that it's hard for him/her to find a right way to express their better side.... And there are many other configurations. Discuss.
I try hard not to judge other people at all, but if by judge you mean on what I base my opinions of them, I should have to say by what they do and how they act. I can't know what is in someone else's mind or heart. We all have thoughts that at one time or another would be considered less than stellar. It's what people actually do with their lives that matters. All the grand dreams and bright ideas in the world don't amount to much if you don't act on them.
I think that's why therapists make very good money. How many people try to figure out why they think one way and act another? I'm sure to some degree we all have situations in which we think differently than we are 'allowed' to act.
A person's true character will eventually be apparent.
I think the old adage has a lot of truth to it: "Actions speak louder than words." I know a couple of folks who are always talking about helping the poor and how conservatives don't care about the poor. The problem is that neither one of these people has EVER helped the poor, and they don't even pay taxes. If they don't want to help, that's their right, but they shouldn't preach to others about doing it.
I agree, talk is cheap..i judge people by their actions...
I agree, if you say you'll do something and then you don't, it's not good. But I was referring more to how a person may think deep inside, without necessarily voicing it: in some cases he/she would act accordingly, in some - not so.
For the most part I agree that actions speak louder than words, but sometimes we aren't sure of our actions so we do not act at all. I believe you can be a good person but be too insecure to act accordingly. Been there.
talks can be deceptive and also actions can be circumstantial but the behavioous cannot be hided for long .ZSo if you observe a ;persons action for quite along time you can definitely judge him. I may be wrong as charaacters are always unpredictable and non behaviourable.

From what I've read in the bible, we are to identify wrong behaviours and speak up but we are not to play judge because that makes us prideful and reluctant to take the beam out of our own eye. Many Christians insist that it is their duty to judge and they end up judging everyone about everything....
