Everything is a Social issue or a Racial issue or a conspiracy theory to Liberals.

      Let's see.

One party continually fights for tax cuts for billionaires paying 15% tax rates.  The same party cries about socialism when it comes to helping the least fortunate among us while supporting subsidies to Exxon, war profiteers making billions in quarterly profits off the backs of the hard working American people and the blood of the loyal men and women bravely serving this country, and any other social program that pampers the rich.

Then, they grab their Bibles, head to church, and come back out looking to ban gays from equal rights and spend every waking minute trying to figure out how to deny affordable healthcare to the people of America.

You know, the politicians that can't stand socialized healthcare yet have the best socialized healthcare in the world?

In short, if you're an avid viewer of FOX and idolize Rush, none of what I've said will make any sense.  You'll never hear about the poverty rate, nor see any charts, but you'll certainly hear episode after episode how the "job creators" have it so bad and how Acorn nearly ruined the foundation of our voting institution.

It's sad that so many people purposely choose to misinform the masses and it's even sadder that the masses can't figure it out.

Oh well, what do I know, I'm just presenting another conspiracy theory.

Agreed.  I don't know why I waste my time with these threads.  I typically stay away, but can't help it sometimes.

When you have people mindlessly regurgitating FOX, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, and the likes, you get what we've got in this country; a country tailor-maid to suit the selfish needs of crazy talking-heads making millions while the vast majority of the American people are reduced to squalor.

I'm not surprised these talking-heads use their influence in such a disgusting manner, but I'm becoming increasingly surprised and concerned at the number of people who fall for it due to their blind ideology, ignorance, or a combination of both.

When we have people cheering for the possible death of innocent people on death row and the same group of individuals who can't wait to deny health coverage to those most in need, it's a sad state of affairs.

You sure are scared of FOX news. Liberals have all the network news and all but one cable news station parroting everything they say and FOX news sends you into a hissy fit. I guess its because people ACTUALLY watch FOX and ignore the other so called news outlets. Relax, you still got Hollywood.

I watch Fox news just to see what they have to say. The only person who isn't completely blinded by hypocratic garbage is Billl O'Reilly, and lately he's acting more center right again. The station probably told him he was getting too "fair and balanced." Hannity is just a parrot, and the way he fawns over Sarah Palin is hilarious.Too bad he isn't sitting at a lucite desk, I wonder what Mrs. Hannity would think!

It's such a pity that you are still unable to distinguish between communism and liberalism, even my 14 year old daughter has a basic grasp of the ideological differences between political groups, still you have the rest of your life for personal development. 'The socialist  brain of a liberal democrat'  now that is funny, I  laughed almost as much as I did when I heard your arguments for opposing health reform in the US.

You see, the thing is, if you had any real desire to improve the lives of your fellow Amercians, you'd recognize that this left, right mentality or what some would consider mindless aggression, is damaging to you all. Why not concentrate your energy on trying to find solutions to problems, instead of making more?

The "problem" is liberalism! The idea that government should have a larger role in society, that all our real and imagined problems, can be fixed by another government bureaucracy, a new law, a new tax or an expansion of government power is the "progressive" philosophy of liberals. They believe this all in spite of 100 years of evidence in this country that proves otherwise and thousands of years of history that shows power corrupts and eventually destroys the societies it claimed it would protect and make better. Liberalism leads to socialism then communism and finally fascism. Liberalism is the seed of the tree of destruction.

Because gvt needs money to operate. When you take money out of the operating expenses--a HUGE chunk!, others are put-upon to make up for that loss.  Having the rich pay taxes at the same rate as the rest, will put more money in, allowing for less raiding of the middle class. It's really very simple.

Of course, you say we need to spend less, so the rich can keep more.....and I say Ok: Belly up! What are the rich willing to give up so as to share in the sacrifice?

Social security has to be reformed or it will self destruct. Same with medicare. Even if you take all of the money the rich make it won't put a dent in our debt and it will be a one time event.

Maybe ALL Americans should pay? The system you seem to like is some pay a majority of the taxes (70%) and some pay (30%). The bottom 50% pay none at all, as a matter of fact the employment tax that is taken from their checks is returned to them in greater numbers at the end of the year. Fair to you is someone else paying your way.

How would taxing the rich help me? Well, not me so much, my half sister really. You see she was severely disabled having suffered extreme seizures most of her life. In 2006 she died having nearly drowned in the bath after having had a seizure. She was supposed to be supervised in the bath to ensure she didn't have a seizure while in the bath. It is my firm belief that the reason there were no staff supervising her when she needed them is down to the funding cuts group homes like hers suffered during President Bushes term, resulting in staff cuts that meant she couldn't get the supervision she needed to simply bathe. As far as I am concerned, those who whine about how unfair it is to have to contribute to their society and demand to have no taxes, are directly responsible for the funding cuts that lead to my sisters death. Such people are no better then murderers accomplices. These belly aching whiners are at best willfully ignorant and should only be laughed at, at worst they are properly hateful greedy people that could fairly be called evil and as such shouldn't be paid attention to except to make sure all they can do is whine like toddlers. I tell you what was unfair, my sister, unable to take a bath with proper supervision. The hundreds of broken bones and teeth she suffered over her life was pretty unfair. Rich people having to contribute to the a society they sell to and profit off of just doesn't really seem all that unfair when I see my sisters life. Don't like it? Go try selling to the people in the Canary Islands and other tax havens, they are great for storing your money but the natives are poor as dirt and don't have money to buy useless plastic crap as status symbols. Somalia would likely welcome so many rich people, they would make great ransom victims.......

Nor will you blame Obama for the 500 billion in cuts he made to medicare so young healthy people that could afford insurance but chose not to buy it could still have it.

The point is she didn't identify what cuts Bush made that led to a layoff where her sister lived. It doesn't make sense. Bush was growing the program increasing spending and debt. Even Obama in his campaign called Bush unpatriotic for the debt he created. So what cuts? It sounds to me like she has a case for wrongful death. No care facility should allow someone with her sister's condition to bathe alone no matter how many cuts are made. You're telling me that if staff was cut that they couldn't adjust by giving less baths per week? That the only option was to risk the life of a patient? You liberals really don't give much thought to anything do you?

"I  laughed almost as much as I did when I heard your arguments for opposing health reform in the US."

I just heard that the rate of un-insured has gone from 28% to 24% thanks to the new provision that kids can remain on their parents plan until age 26....something which is very good, as I also heard that the poorest group of American citizens now are those young adults.

      The richest?

      Seniors.

My mom says it's due to Medicare....make it avaliable to us all, and imagine...our kids might even have the chance for a future.

Instead of paying for baby-boomers, who are the LAST generation to survive 30+ years of Republican economic policies.
      ***

This is only the beginning of the benefits we ALL will see as a result of Obama's policies....we MUST give them a chanced to blossom. Not turn back again!

Come on America...wise up. Right-Wing policies are no good. We've tried them ENUFF!

We live in a soft fascist, one party state. The irony of it all is both sides want to argue on which is best to run up the deficit. Either entitlements or bombs. Neither work, neither are moral.

          I disagree.

We are arguing on what kind of country we want to have!

My parents and grandparents had a country where one person could support a family with one job.

Vacations, savings: all on a factory job!

Now, you need 2 incomes to NOT make ends meet!
No vacations, No savings, no job security!

          30 years and it FAILED.

          Do not go back!

Have you ever Googled yourself? There is one interesting and entertaining forum devoted to you or at least a cagsil. It mentions your over use of Phrases like your ignorant or you lack understanding, you should seek it out.

I've no reason to Google myself. As for the repeating of phrases, it's for a reason, I continue to run into the same types of people, which brings out the same terminology. wink

Repairguy47, open your mind a little, do it for yourself and your own progression. BTW, don't be afraid of me, I've merely asked you to explain yourself. If your confident about your own perspectives, this should not be a problem.

I'm asking you to open your mind, to the fact, that political leaders you once had faith in, let you down and lied to you. This phenomena is not exclusive to the right. Political figures of all colors have engaged in this practice. You do not have to blindly follow them. You voted for them, they lied, they are in the wrong. You do not, out of some misplaced loyalty, have to defend them.

I think many people are hysterical.  The conservatives are hysterical against the liberals and the other way around.  And the religious are hysterical against atheists and atheists against the religious.  Hysteria, and anger is particularly obvious online, because people can say what they want without fear of being physically attacked.  I do sometimes wonder where people went to argue before the internet was invented.

And if someone did physically attack someone else, just because of something said, then what does that say about the attacker?

"The law that created the deficit committee also created a zero-sum game: Any expensive program that escapes the budget knife does so at the expense of cuts to other programs. If the military contractors succeed in keeping the war budget intact, they’ll likely do so at the expense of Social Security and Medicare."
