NANUET. N.Y. -- Martin Kessman says he loves White Castle burgers and has been eating them for 50-plus years, but the 290-pound stockbroker doesn't like that he can't fit into the booths at his local restaurant.
So he's suing.
He filed a federal lawsuit last month against the fast-food chain claiming the small seating violates his rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
He also accused White Castle of reneging on its promise to upgrade its seating with more space between the table and back of the bench to accommodate heftier customers.

the company spokesperson stated that the customers can request chairs if they don't want to sit in a booth..sounds like a frivolous suit?..
Fatboy needs to change his eating habits. Eating burgers and fries at White Castle isn't the solution.
It is frivolous and will more than likely be thrown out by the courts...
Are you serious? I'm sorry, I have absolutely nothing against larger framed people in fact I know and love several people who are overweight but this is totally ridiculous!! That would be like me suing every clothing company in America for making clothes smaller than my size! This man should either lose the weight or stay home! It's his fault that he's too big, not White Castle's!
Is there a real difference here between this and the airline passenger that takes their own seat plus a good deal of the ones on each side?
Either way someone else (White Castle or other passengers) are expected to pay the price for their over eating.
Along that same line of thought, I am contemplating suing my closet because it is shrinking my clothes so they no longer fit me!
This is just ridiculous - and I'm a big person. Maybe he should restrict his consumption of burgers! lol
Hello?
Why can't he just get his sliders to go, like normal White Castle customers?
You people are jumping to conclusions. It's obviously not the White Castles making him fat.
I'm suing my wife for having a small vagina that doesn't accommodate my um.....
disability. Tri-pods have rights too.
I'm suing Jim Beam for not putting drunk-proof caps on their bourbon bottles.
Yeah but the publicity would be great. It might jump start my film career.
The Colts helmet threw me, but now I recognize you, Ron!
Aren't you the guy who stars in that TV show "Hung"???
That's not a helmet, it's a prescription condom.
Well, if he has been eating burgers for fifty years, of course he can't fit into the booths. Maybe a salad every now and again might have prevented his problem.
If he's been eating burgers for fifty years he's got more problems then just not fitting into the booths.
White Castle burgers have onions on them.
Onions are known antioxidants!
Plus they have 5 holes, so they _______________________
(insert punchline here)
It occurs to me that if WC made their booths to fit this guy no one else could reach the table. We'd dribble our fries and burgers all over the floor!
Of course, the obvious solution is to custom fit one booth in every joint for him. Makes good sense!

PC. Is it good, bad or somewhere in between? How far can PC go before it becomes ridiculous? When does it become offensive and unworkable? Examples are encouraged.Have we lost touch with (what once was called) common sense?

I am a black man and I have been living for nearly seven decades. Thus, I am well aware that a considerable number of white law-enforcement officers are racists. However, racist white cops are not the ones making millions of black people's lives miserable. That is being done by a large number of...
