How many hubs do you usually have on the go at one time?

   Do you have a lot of 'red' hubs sitting in your HP account?  Or do you decide on a topic, concentrate on that one hub and see it through from start to finish, before even considering the next one?
   
   I always have a large collection of red hubs, which I mostly started but abandoned somewhere along the way.  I lost enthusiasm for them somehow. 
   
   There are also usually a couple that I'm actively working on and adding to.  And sometimes I will regain new enthusiasm for a hub I started a while ago, and finally finish it.  I like it when this happens.  It's like I lay down the basic idea for it, let it percolate for a while, and then it kind of finishes itself just when the time is right.

      As for keywords and 'SEO', etc. I still haven't much of a clue ~ which is probably why I don't earn very much

      I generally write on a single topic at a time, which can have 4 to 10 supporting hubs (Hub series format). I try to let them sit a day or two before publishing so I can proof read and edit each with fresh eyes. This also allows the hubs to grow in terms of their individual hub scores. The score increases even if the hub has not been published. I have heard that you don't want to have too many unpublished hubs going at once though, as this can drop your overall 'hubber' score. Writing in a hub series format helps you to create your own self promoting links on a topic; which can be quite good for readers. It lets them decide how much (more) within a topic they wish to read by offering pertinent links (that you have also written). It is also good to find solid high quality links for your reader that are from the community here on HP, this will help you improve your reputation, community welfare, and reader loyalty.       I usually have one or two going at the same time, at least. The most I've ever had were six and right now I've got four in the works. I don't like the sea of red, but I've found that hub score raises as you let them sit. So I'm content to let them be.

   When I first started, I had about 10-30 hubs on-going at any given time. However, I've curtailed my hub writing, until I completely sort out my traffic issues and get the hang of SEO techniques.
   
   I continue to work with keywords/tags on my existing hubs and shifting the format around to see what's what with regards to clicks. Ever since the Panda hit and all the recently additions to Panda, and then all the changes HP has done, it's been difficult to nail down anything.
   
   But, I'm working on it.

   I have anywhere from 0 to 5-6 on the go at one time. Usually it is just 1 or 2, because I do not like leaving something unfinished.

   I think I have about 100 hubs lying unpublished. Started them all when I was in freakish, crazy hub-writing mode, and most of of them pre-date Panda.
   
   Now they lie forlorn and desolate.
   
   One day I might finish and publish them, or delete them them forever, don't know yet.
   
   I'm so annoyed with myself - I got a mad crazy hub writing mood yesterday, with loads of ideas and loads of stuff I could have written inside half an hour, but put off starting till after lunch, and that was a big mistake.
   
   After eating, I sat down, said to myself "let's get on with it!" and then realised I had forgotten what I was going to write about.
   
   Maybe it was the food, maybe it is an age thing, but next time I feel like having a mad writing spurge, I'll just do it, never mind the food.

   Well I have about 32 hubs unpublished at any one time, but I write on something I know well. I usually wait until a hub is past a certain score then publish it.
   However more experienced hubbers do things differently and it would be strongly suggested to heed their advice.....

    I have a whole bunch of writing (in my own files) that's about 80% done, and sometimes I'll decide to turn one thing or another into a Hub, so I finish it up and post it on here.  That's not my usual way of coming up with Hubs, though.  Usually, I an idea for a Hub just hits me and I go with it at the time.
    
    I only have a few red ones, and they're usually when I go to the answers sections and hit "write a Hub about it" instead of answering the question.  I'll get a few paragraphs down, but not have time to finish (because I wasn't planning to write a whole Hub when I went to Answers).  Usually, the "hot-flash" urge to answer that question with a Hub goes away, and I'm more likely to end up letting the thing sit for awhile before facing the reality that I'm not interested any longer. 
    
    More of my red ones are likely to be old Hubs that I unpublish, let sit in limbo for - honestly - months, and eventually decide I don't want to do anything with them other than make them completely disappear. 
    
    I try to keep the number of red ones pretty low, although I had a handful of them (maybe 6/7, if that) a couple of months ago.  Most often, it's more like 2 or 3 because I delete 2 or 3 at a time as I write more to offset the loss of a few.

    Thanks, it's interesting to see what other people do.  I never intend for a hub to stay red and unpublished. 
    
    Sometimes I too get an idea and am so motivated that I just write it, and it's done.  But other times I'm interrupted or tired so I intend to finish it another day.  But by that time I've lost the motivation and can't imagine why I was so excited about it, and what I was planning on writing!
    
    It's good to know that I'm not alone in this.  A while ago I was even worried that I was going against HP rules by having these unpublished hubs, and that I might get into trouble!
    
    I'm glad this is not the case.  And hopefully I will manage to rejuvenate some of them, and regain the inspiration I had when I first started them.
