How long did it take you? I'm a new Hubber and want to get an idea of a time line before this starts to snowball!

I wrote my first hub on January 11, 2011. Actually even though that sounds like a long time, a lot of hubbers told me it took them a year or more to get their first pay-out, so I feel lucky especially since I got dinged by Google a couple of times in the last couple of months

Considering that google has been more than a little cruel to hubbers ever since Panda 1, I doubt luck has much to do with it.  Maybe it's good writing??  And/or hard work??  Methinks so...

Well done, but do I not remember a post when you where going to leave what you you  like a lot of other thought was a sinking ship.?

DIYweddingplannerposted 12 years agoin reply to this

You are so right, Lyndre.  I absolutely was about to give up the ghost.  And I still stand firm on the fact that HP needs to change some of their methods for allowing new writers to publish here to make it a better site and to gain more respect for us with Google.  The only thing that's kept me here are the writers...the community here.  And honestly, the money's nice, but hey, two tanks of gas and it's gone, right!?

I like the fact that I get fan mail from brides who say I've helped them in some way...that makes my day!

Still standing in the corner at this point, DIY.  After making monthly Adsense payout every month--often in the first week or so-- for over a year and a half, I failed to do so last month and October seems even worse so far.

Google giveth and Google taketh away.  But I'm still glad for yours and others success.  smile
