Does hubpages hubs get indexed more quickly and ranked higher than your regular site or blog on google and other search engines?
Yes, as I have checked, they do get indexed quickly. But I don't have any idea about getting raked. Actually, it depends on the quality of the content. Depends on whether Panda likes your content or not.
Yes as compared to a newly registered domain and website.
Hubpage does get indexed and ranked well on Google.
I've got one Hub that ranked top20 in Google within 24hrs of publishing.
It'll even be better if you stay active in comments, answers and forums. The reason is when you do interact often, your subdomain hubpage homepage is linked everytime you make a post and your hub is in your homepage. All these link brings value and it let's search engines crawls through easily and fast.
Yes Google loves Hubpages and Hubs tend to be picked up more often than any other site by Google.
What is a great news for all of us, isn't it
When I joined I was wondering what is the benefit of joing such a portal when compared with private website or blog.
And the indexing/ranking along with great community are major advantages, especially for a beginner without extensive knowledge in SEO
If you search the forums for the terms "plunge" and "plungers", you will notice this is not the current experience of a number of writers on this site.
Quite correct! Google does not love me, I assume I must write to such a low standard that the google bots dare not tread too often on my work.
I am happy to hear this! It reminds me that social sites like this are still authority sites, even if some people stick up their noses at them. I have seen my Squidoo lenses show up in organic searches.
I don't know if this helps, but what I have been doing, is building things on social sites that tie into my websites. Rather than have a completely stand alone hub, or lens, etc. It is valuable on its own, but then it points people to my websites.
I have, in a short time, had one of my Squidoo lenses achieve a PR1, with almost no time spent promoting it, and it has almost no backlinks, unlike all the effort I put into promoting my websites!

I love HubPages, I feel that I have learned so much here and my confidence in writing non-fiction took such a huge leap when I was invited onto the Apprenticeship program last year. I have met some wonderful people here - both staff and other Hubbers. But as may other people have said, the idling...

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks. New pages do not get indexed for days or weeks. This causes lost traffic and lost...

Hubbers, I'm sorry that we can't tell you why your traffic is going down or why Google was showing Hubs on hubpages.com and now has reverted to showing them on the subdomain. We are similarly frustrated. We do know Google announced a panda update last week. We also can see Hubs...

I’ve had a hub scraped by 2 different sites in the time between when a hub goes out of ‘pending’ into ‘featured’ and when google indexes that hub. The copies are ranking above me for a couple of terms – the scraped articles were indexed 18 hours before mine was [EDIT: I've just checked - my...

Have been through confirming Google-indexed-hubs in my HP's account; I had to use the Google search with first paragraph of each hub in a quotation mark. It was a hectic experience and am wondering if there is any other fastest way of doing this- All the same; the results were impressive as all my...
