This has been an anticlimactic week for GOP candidate news.
First Chris Christie, governor of NJ, announced 2012 is not his time.
Now former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has announced she's not running, either. but will remain "unfettered."
This race is getting more boring every day.
    *yawn.*

Now there's  a surprise. I thought she was making everyone wait with baited breath because she was writing another intriguing account of what makes Sarah tick...or not, as the case maybe.

LOL, yawning with you, like we all didn't already know, or hope, for this result at this late date......there will not be an Obama Lite like Huntsman on the ticket, IMO, even if the very sad result of a legit GOP candidate is another Obama term due to our quite unwieldly and dishonest electoral college system.  Go Herman Cain!!!!!!!!!!!1

Define "legit GOP candidate" and who (if any) of the current crop fit that bill.
I honestly don't care what party s/he is from as long as
        a) They have a realistic plan to fix this damned economy and
        b) Leave the far right social issues out of the equation.

They don't have (a) so they sure as hell won't do (b).

Ron Paul is currently 3rd in polls. He wants to cut all government spending, and more importantly, he wants to return the U.S. to a sound dollar. Less government its better.

As far as far right issues go, Ron Paul thinks abortion is a state issue, as well as gay marriage.

He has been married to the same woman for 54 years, a 12 term congressman, has NEVER voted against his ideology, and has delivered over 2,000 babies (he is also a Doctor).

You have to look him up: Ronpaul2012.com

Ron Paul is a nice guy but quite unrealistic. He wants to repeal the 20th century.

Sometimes Paul seems to have good ideas, but then it's like he goes off into the Twilight Zone.

The 20th century appears to have given us the precedent to murder US citizens without trials...

              ... so, yeah - let's repeal it.

First of all we need to elect legislators with a brain and a backbone to come up with sensible policies that get out of the way of business, but still protect the consumer.
Second, I agree.  Leave the social issues to communities and politicians butt out.  How they run the country better be based on adhering to the Constitution and what's best for the entire nation.  Don't need anyone with a messiah complex thinking they can tell the rest of us how to run our lives.

Sarah must be too busy now that the NBA players are on strike and have so much free time on their hands

Still, the news does pave the way nicely...

This ain't no job for lip service only.
She'd stand up to those "zoo creatures" in Congress better than Obama ever has!

Bummer.  Well, then Letterman is missing the boat.  Because there's still plenty of fodder for jokes.   Obama's repeated attempts to regain his lost charisma, Biden's disappearance (where is he anyway?!), Eric Holder's disappearing guns,  just to name a few.   But hey maybe Letterman's too tongue-tied by the Left anyway.....

More than half of us were pissed and in disbelief when the SCOTUS handed Bush the White House in 2000.

It's really too bad Obama can't conveniently cause a war, thus assuring a "don't change horses in the middle of the stream" second term victory like his predecessor.
Unfortunately, the only way he can win again is if the economy improves.
Which, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to point out, it will not do as long as the GOP has any say (which it does, both inside Congress and out in the business world).
On the other hand, those who believe a GOP president will magically erase the nation's money troubles are in for a rude awakening, too.
          roll

The bottom line is that the GOP clowns running for president don't have the first clue on solving the economy issues.
