My hub or article

   I wrot my first article or hub. It is in my fild folder (document). How can I move it to my hubpage? Please help.

      Click on 'start a new Hub' at the top - and it's fairly straight forward from there....

         I did. But my article is in my file/folder. How can I move it to my hubpage? I clicked publish thinking that there's a way to move it from my file folder to my  hubpage. It was a mistake coz it appears that I puyblished nothing. What shall I do now?

   If I understand what you are saying, you will need to copy blocks of your article and paste them into text capsules after you click on Start a New Hub. 
   
   Since you are new, you may not know that the first steps after Start a New Hub require giving it a title (which can be changed later) and url (which cannot be changed later), choosing a category, a layout, and some tags.  Then, when you get into the HubTool, you will be able to add and fill capsules - for text, photos, videos, tables, maps, quizzes (surveys), RSS, Amazon and eBay.
   
   Don't paste all of the text into just one capsule.  It's best to break it up and use headings for separate sections.

   I followed all what you wrote, aficionada; but I am lost with what u wrote - don't paste all of the text in just one capsule. I am not familiar with sites like hubpage. My problem is where to write or type my hub or article?

      julie51, if you have already clicked on Start a New Hub and have followed what I wrote, and then clicked Continue as needed (a Captcha may be required, I'm not sure), and if you then have reached the HubTool page where it tells you exactly what to do, and if you're still not sure what to do, then I think your best bet is to review everything in the HubPages Learning Center.

      will help you find the right kind of content to use; the third one of that series, http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/2-3- … he-hubtool , will answer all of your questions better than I can.
      
      The capsules that I mentioned just show up on your computer screen, after you go through the process I mentioned above.  You can either type your article directly into capsules, or you can copy what you have written in a word-processing program (the material that is in your file folder, I assume) and paste that into the text capsules.  If you have an article that is 1500 words long, the material will look very long and unappealing to readers after it is published, if it is all in only one capsule, and that is why I recommended breaking it up.

         Once again, thank you so much, aficionada for taking time to answer my questions. I clicked the text capsule but it does not show me a space where I can type my hub. Am getting frustrated. I really want to be a member of this site.  Am thinking of giving up.

         Please Excuse my Accent if you consider that I was merely trying to make you feel insecure mate.
         
         From personal (my) experience.. I have found that starting all over again and walking through the steps, more slowly.. often is quicker than seeking to find a remedy for a mistake or software glitch.  Then you can go back and cancel the original doc.
         
         Take you time... Walk through the process and use at least one pic.  Layout-wise consider your hub from the reader's perspective.
         
         And Julie 51 - if you really think that I was taking a cheap shot at you... You can call me Susan for the next month

   Oh my, julie51, you've just had an offer (to call Pearldiver "Susan" for a month) that will make you the envy of all of Hubberland! 
   
   I remember well what it was like when I was publishing my first Hub.  It took me forever, because I knew absolutely nothing about online publishing before then.  Honestly, after publishing just one or two, you will realize how simple HubPages has made everything here.  A lot of people who publish in many places on the Web have commented on how user-friendly this is.  But that doesn't always help with the first Hub. 
   
   And not today, especially.  I don't know whether there is some glitch happening - they do happen from time to time here - but I had a hard time typing in the tag boxes a short while ago; and earlier today, there was a brief time when the site was down for some kind of work.  It was very brief, only a few minutes, but that could indicate that there are some things going on that are making it harder to publish today than it usually is.  Not so good for a rookie!
   
   To summarize the steps (and add what I neglected before):
   
   Click on Start a New Hub (at the top right of the page)
   
   On that first page:
   
   type in the title of your article in the correct box; (it's good to plan this ahead, because a good title can help draw traffic to your article)
   
   check the automatically generated URL (web address), to see if it reflects the keywords you are using in your Hub; this URL can be changed now (just add or delete words in the box), but never after you leave this page, so now is the time to get it right; it does not have to be the same as the title, but both title and URL need to let people know what the Hub is about;
   
   choose the topic from the choices that are available; this can be changed later;
   
   choose the simplest layout to follow, since you said you will not have photos or videos (yet); they can be added later, if you wish;
   
   add some "tags" - short descriptions, similar to keywords, that relate to your Hub; these are used within HubPages to show related Hubs on other Hubbers' articles; you must have at least two tags, but be sure you don't overdo it; for a 500-word article, maybe 5-8 would be a good number (that's just from me and completely unofficial);
   
   click Continue; this takes you to a page that says "Quality Hubs Thrive"; (NOTE - it may be different for your first Hubs - I'm not certain); you may need to solve a Captcha, a squiggly-letter word puzzle intended to foil spammers; then click continue on this page;
   
   You should now be on a page that says, at the top, Assemble Your Capsules.  On that page, there will be a line that has the word "text" on it, and a button that is labeled Edit (circled in red below).  Click on Edit, and that will open a Capsule where you can type in (or copy in) your material (second picture below).  All you have to do is to click your cursor in the box to get started (just like a forum post or reply box).  When you have finished, be sure to click Save.
   
   
   
   
   
   After you have entered all of the material, you may want to look at it by clicking on Preview at the top.  To leave the Preview panel, click the X in the upper right-hand circle.  Before you click Publish, check the section on the right.  It's a good idea to write your own summary - 2-3 sentences that can show up on a Search Results page to tell searchers what your Hub is about and, we hope, encourage them to check out your Hub.
   
   Finally, click Publish and you're done!  Almost everything can be changed, revised, added to, etc., later - except the URL.

      Aficionada, my friend, I finally published my first hub. Thank you very much. My next hub will be about casino gambling (particularyly - slot machines). I guess everyone is interested to know everything about slotmachines. Do you play the slots?

         Hubs that promote or link to sites that offer or promote gambling for money are not allowed. Discussions of gambling rules, strategies, or events are generally acceptable. If you are unsure if your gambling-related Hub is ok, please contact us for clarification before publishing your Hub.

   I read your profile and it sounds like you are an avid painter and photographer - there is a contest coming soon for hubs related to the arts, so you might consider writing some hubs about your photography or paintings - just throwing the idea out there for you!
